I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this game. It's like if frostpunk management style, anno CB style and AOM had a baby with tentacles. Priced right, too. Definitely a winner all round.

It's not a city builder as it basically creates itself, you just plonk down some buildings and upgrade things, and then press 2 speed and wait and its over. It leaves very little in control of the player. i'm sure it's got a target audience, but it certainly doesn't scratch the city building itch in the slightest. Refunded. Will revisit after full release.

Got this for for my kids to play for chore reward, and i didn't expect much because it was free (not sure why?, maybe some promo), and they absolutely love it! I've even had a go. Its a lovely story, nice aesthetics and relaxing to play.

On PC I've only played 2 hours, but on console i played about 300 hours and many play throughs. I love this game, its a classic nostalgic anxiety inducing frustration fest for the kid in you.

Do you want to require therapy after playing a "city builder"? Do you want to get so mad at having to start again that you just cant bring yourself to quit? do you want a game that provides hours of unending existential crisis? Then this is the game for you!

I really, REALLY wanted to love this and have anticipated its release since it was barely a whisper on the internet, but all I can say is I cant believe, and am somewhat resentful of the fact that I payed $40 for something that held my attention for less than 2 hours- coming from someone who has played the genre for 25 years. My gripe isn't with the unfinished, unpolished state of the game, as its EA and that's a given, its the fact that its more expensive than other EA games of the genre that are currently far superior such as ostriv. Currently it is absolutely, unequivocally not worth the price and is a very un-engaging and certainly has not lived up to the hype, even for EA.
I hope it improves, drastically.

Any way to support this dev i'm here for it. Keep it up. This is hands down the best sandbox city builder I've played, and I've been playing the genre for almost 25 years (I Blame the OG pharaoh lol).

Great city builder! highly re-playable. One of my favourites so far.

I've come back to edit my already positive review after an additional 380 hours. My appreciation for Ostriv is now 10 fold after the release of manor lords, which i was very excited for and have been left sorely disappointed. I cannot recommend Ostriv enough to anyone who wants a flexible, in-depth city building experience. I own something like 36 city builder, resource management type games, and Ostriv is without a doubt superior to them all, even in its current early access state.

Great start. anyone who likes city builders will likely enjoy this. chill but not over simple.
