I think its about time i review this game, i have had avpc for about 9 months, possibly close to a year and i love this game. From the launcher to the multiplayer community, this game is great!! I unsuspectingly found this game when i was searching across the internet for an aliens vs predator game. I would've originally of gotten avp 2010 but i wanted to find something new, something different that I have never seen before. I can assure you that im not disappointed at all. Due to its low price i didn't think it would be that special or anything amazing. After the first few minutes of the predator campaign, i changed my mind and realized how great of a game this really is. Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 is like a hidden gem in the mass steam store, at first it doesn't seem that appealing but then...... BOOM its hits you in the face that this is indeed, the best alien vs predator game of all time, even outdoing avp2 which has quite a few more advantages. But even avp2 doesn't have the same vibe that avpc 2000 gives off, avpc 2000 has a grittier atmosphere and more definitive idea of what an alien vs predator game should be like and maybe even what the avp movies should've been like. I can tell you, avpc 2000 takes quite a bit of practice and skill to get as a good as the veteran players, but over all its worth the hours you'll put into it. Now that i`m about half way done with the review, ill get into the smaller and bigger details of why i think Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 is the best of all avp games. First of all, the arsenal and combat. Playing as the marine gives you quite a few weapons including: the pulse rifle, smart gun, sadar, pistols, and a few more useful weapons. Same for the predator, even though there are a few less weapons for him, they are definitely powerful. For the xenomorph/alien, well, not only is he fast, but he can 3 shot a predator!! Playing as the alien is really fun, like crawling the walls and sneaking up behind people and head biting them. Now finally, multiplayer. Even though i usually get smoked while playing it, i love it (since im far from a great player, but that doesn't mean i cant have fun). The ability to play one of my favorite games with other people is so incredibly fun and sometimes unpredictable, in a good way. Despite the few bugs that happen, and fairly outdated graphics, its worth even more than what steam and gog want for it. Here is a couple other things, incase you are interested in these few things: there is quite a few mods you can get for free on moddb, including sound patches and a few useless addons that just look nice i guess (i currently have a few), you may run into a salty player in multiplayer, but thats normal for any multiplayer game, and the menus are slightly limited with less graphics, audio, and gameplay options but all in all has quite a few things to toy around with, and finally coop mode, which is the multiplayer version of skirmish, i also forgot to add that there are a few maps to play on that may hold most of your interests, this includes 181 custom maps that you can get on the universal map pack on moddb. if you are ever struggling, there are a few guides that can help you on the community page. Im sorry if this review didn't uncover what it was supposed to, i wrote this in a rush, late at night. So all in all i hope i convinced you to get this game, and hopefully left the impression of how great this game is. :D
