A Dream of Strange Cities

There sat down, once, a thing on Henry's heart
só heavy, if he had a hundred years
& more, & weeping, sleepless, in all them time
Henry could not make good.
Starts again always in Henry's ears
the little cough somewhere, an odour, a chime.

And there is another thing he has in mind
like a grave Sienese face a thousand years
would fail to blur the still profiled reproach of. Ghastly,
with open eyes, he attends, blind.
All the bells say: too late. This is not for tears;
thinking.

But never did Henry, as he thought he did,
end anyone and hacks her body up
and hide the pieces, where they may be found.
He knows: he went over everyone, & nobody's missing.
Often he reckons, in the dawn, them up.
Nobody is ever missing.

John Berryman, Dream Song 29

- Look for rectangular blue buttons stamped with the Murkoff logo, then use your middle mouse key or voice chat to call a friend over to press the second one simultaneously. You'll unlock a room filled with goodies. The buttons and the room are always very close to each other.

- Blue document folders are like crack for you. Grab them, always.

- Never play solo. You can adjust your matchmaking settings to only join groups of 4, which is ideal.

- On harder Trial difficulties bottles and bricks to the head don't seem to do much to enemies. You need to use the explosive Rig or avoid them completely. Enemies will also be more likely to check hiding spots and pull you out.

- A special sound effect will always play when an enemy spots or hears you. You have a few seconds to leave or hide when this happens. Being detected by enemies never reduces your score, but being hit and stepping on noisemakers does even if you have the Slippers equipped.

- Your middle mouse button can't mark the Pouncers in hiding spots even if you're pointing right at them. You'll have to use voice chat to warn people.

- The Giant's axe is a one-hit KO and his reach is always longer than you think.

- In Trials, the people standing or sitting alone will hit you if you go near them.

- In the carnival you're meant to grab hearts from the steel bin in the diner to get tickets. I mention this because me and everyone I played with had no idea you could interact with what we thought was just a gory detail - we spent like 20 minutes hunting for bricks and bottles to hit the targets.

- You can't time the flame jets in the river of blood to get past them. Don't even try.

- When a Prime Asset is holding someone else you have a few seconds to run over and boot them loose. The same goes for downed players being executed, but you'll have to run in a circle so you can lose the enemy, then double back and revive him.

- You're going to lose a few Trials because you got stuck with a stupid team that doesn't cooperate.

Good luck.
