Early Access Review
Everything about this game, from the looks to the feel is absolutely great. I haven't been able to take my hands off in the past few days!

The map is smaller, but much more interactive and fleshed out, than Subnautica's. It is beautiful, with much more to do, see, and explore vertically. Not to mention, the land sections have been overhauled compared to the jankiness of Subnautica!

The story is amazing. I don't want to spoil any of it, but it's not spoonfed and it's also not Dark Souls level of "Find it out yourself." It's a nice inbetween!

Base building is even better than before. I never built a super elaborate base in the first Subnautica, but I couldn't help myself this time when I could practically make myself a palace.

This game is great!

Aight, I'm about to drop the fact of the matter upon yo' monkey minds:

Story: pretty good
Locations: AMAZING
Loot: Abysmal

With the sunsetting of most of D2's weaponry to date, you'd expect them to pump in new weapons to replace the ones we had lost. Bungie did not. From Forsaken giving us 90+ weapons, Beyond Light only gives 20 some and not even 5 new armor sets. With such a massively diminished loot-pool in a looter shooter, there is no excuse for this overall lack of content. I cannot recommend you play the game in its current state, as there is, quite literally, no loot to be acquired. To put this in perspective: if you're a Destiny player looking to use a void element hand cannon you cannot do so anymore because all of the old ones have been sunset. The loot pool is tiny, to put it bluntly, and destroys an overall pretty good experience.

While this recent update introduces a lot of great things and changes, changes to the combat flow to the game make me now want to recommend this to anyone to values practice or progression in its current state. While Mordhau's combat is generally unforgiving, the main issues have been addressed in this patch with animation abuse, morph tweaks, and chamber reworks. However, changes to the world recovery times and parry windows make using these tools (morphs, chambers, feints) irrelevant to landing hits. To put things bluntly: they raised the skill floor and lowered the skill ceiling drastically. While I think this is, overall, a good change I find the new inability to punish blatant mistakes (panic parries, misses, long-drag windups) to be a negative change for the game's health and intricate combat system. Mordhau feels much like Chivalry 2 now.

I love this game! If you're a lore fanatic like myself you'll love this game. The stealth gameplay is fun and fluid, and there are many interesting ways to approach sneaking about!

I can't get enough of this game!

I picked this game up for the first time in a combo-deal from my local GameStop before it shut down with the orginial Mirror's Edge. I played the first game, then Catalyst. It's difficult to think of anything beating Mirror's Edge, but the world we are dropped into and the gameplay in and of itself is one-of-a-kind.

The story was a little boring at times, some thing felt a bit bland near the beginning but it feels like the calm before the storm. Boring in a good way, it builds anticipation towards the climax of the story! It crafts a believable conflict, with human characters and factions with their own goals and beliefs. The world building on DICE's part made this game for me. The in-game world feels full and like there's a ton to see and experience!

However, I do have my grievances. Having to access a website or a phoneapp to customize your runner tag is a bit silly, and the "multiplayer" isn't multiplayer. If you're looking for a multiplayer experience, you aren't going to find one. You can't play with your friends, not physically. You can create dashes in which you can see their echoes from previous best-times to race, you can hack billboards to show off your runner tag in their worlds (Some of these billboards are hard to get to, so it's a like a competition for clout, kind of!), along with hackable screens in safehouses to show where your friends have been recently. To say it isn't neat isn't doing the game justice, but this game isn't multiplayer.

Secondly, although the content in the overworld will keep you busy for a LONG time, not to mention the main story is lengthy in itself, some of the content can feel repetitive. There's only so many difficult dashes and deliveries I can do before I want to scurry off and do something else!

In the end though, this game is a diamond in the rough. The movement is crisp, the fighting sequences are smooth and flowing with a high skill ceiling for combos and advanced attacks, and the open world is beautiful. There's no reason not to give Mirror's Edge Catalyst a shot!

With the Escalation update finally out this game is brimming with all sorts of life, with battles raging on each and every continent across almost all the servers! It's refreshing and the content is beyond good, having fleshed out outfits incredibly! PS2's gameplay is among the best I've ever played, being like Battlefield but scaled up 500%!

Although it is short and the choices you make are linear, it is a game with an interesting story, atmosphere, and cast. The puzzles are challenging and can really test you outside knowledge of certain topics (You're at an advantage if you're musically inclined, unlike me!). My big gripe is the length of the game and the animations. I was able to complete the game in little under three hours, which I believe the game can stretch to five or six depending on if you exhaust dialogue and have some trouble with some of the puzzles. The walking/jogging animations can be clunky, but it suits the game's purpose. For a freebie game, it's not bad!
