Hated this game when I originally played it on Game Pass because the early missions were too boring
But as soon as my friend mentioned "VR" I instantly decided to check it out on a YT video.
Needless to say, VR fixed my issue of things being too boring and makes mundane actions (like mining) very fun since you need to swing your arm to mine.
Other than VR mods fixing the game for me, the game's good, go read the other reviews, I haven't played enough for a full opinion I just wanted to say the VR mod is based

It's cool but not $5.99 cool. I didn't pay for it or anything, but man this should have been cheaper or just free DLC for the rest of the players. Heck, even the Sonic Frontiers free DLC gave us more content.
Don't get me wrong, the level in the DLC is up to par with the first beginning segment of this game, however I can't recommend this DLC to anyone because of these reasons below
You only get one act and two challenge levels. I got Act 1 down to about three minutes, and that's including the QTE in the level. It's about 0:02:30 in length.
And the challenge acts are just borderline optional, the main thing was act 1.
I would have excused it if it was $2.99, one buck a level, but six dollars just doesn't feel worth it for just a level and two optional challenges that are both a couple minutes long. Really, at most, you'll be spending 5-8 minutes on this DLC so I just can't say it's worth spending six bucks on a 10 minute DLC.

So far, this far exceeds my expectations!
The gameplay is super fast
The movement on heroes like Spider-Man, Venom, and Star-Lord feels snappy and smooth
And best of all, there are so many features these heroes has, like Spider-Man's wallclimb shenanigans and spider-sense that the devs didn't have to add, but did anyway.
I'm super excited to see what this game has to offer in the future, and I can't wait to play all the heroes. But for now, this is my Overwatch killer. Probably because it lifts many things from Overwatch.

I remember playing this game in particular a ton when I had free time in school. Good times.
Oh yeah the game's obviously fun! Just buy it already, you won't regret it!

Sweet Liberty, my wallet. I paid for this game, like, twice. Darn you Arrowhead for making an actual fun game

Great job, Sonic Team. You made another banger. Shadow's campaign was such a great experience. Sure, I wish it was as fast as base Generations, as it's still using Frontiers' speed settings, but the levels account for the low speed and is still pretty dang fun, and there's always a secret or two in each level
Base Gens is... Still Gens, to be honest I was hoping them to add a couple new cutscenes like the one in the chemical plant, but eh you can't win them all.
Though all in all, worth the price for the Shadow campaign. I hope SEGA gives the team more time and budget to make their future games great!... Though, they'll probably find a way. It's SEGA after all.

Disregarding the BLOOOOOM, fanmade "rerainbowed" project, poor cutscene quality, and the glitches, I played through the entire game on Nintendo Switch (which I 100%ed) and it's really not as bad as people think
Is it the definitive way to play Colors? No, not by a large margin. However, it's a port nontheless that adds a couple new things.
Customization, "sweet spot" homing attack, and a new wisp
Many levels require more exploration due to some red ring locations being rehidden, only being found by the new ghost wisp.
The gameplay is still the exact same, boosting Sonic with a heavy empthasis on platforming. This isn't a Sonic Origins situation where the physics are noticeably different to the point where it jacks your muscle memory, they thankfully didn't try messing with that this time around.

The new visuals may be an off putter, but I got used to it myself. Yes, it is better with the older style, don't get me wrong, but even if the game looks like a game from the PS1, if it plays well that's all it needs to be good.
You can have the prettiest visuals ever made, but if the gameplay is unfun, you lost.
Sonic Colors shouldn't be anywhere near the conversation of best 3D Sonic gameplay, but in speedruns, it is pretty satisfying utilizing Sonic's moves to make shortcuts on platforming, managing boost, and choosing what wisps to use and at what moment.
Overall, Colors Ultimate isn't that offensive if you're looking for a fun Sonic game, however if you'd rather spare your eyes and ears, you should probably get the rerainbow mod to enhance the experience.
So yeah, that's what I got to say on the matter of this port, 5ish years later.... man I'm old.
