A lot of people spend a whole lot of time talking about what the best game in the whole soul series is. And while the series as a whole has flaws and each individual game is special in its' own way due to the nature of its' production and the person at the helm of the game. Dark souls three is unique in that its' production was without the usual issues you see in the developments of Dark souls 1, 2, and Demon souls. The games' production was relatively steady, and that shows in the entire game, as it is a far more refined experience than any other game in the series. This doesn't necessarily make it a better game, but the difficulty curve is a genuine curve rather than the ups and downs the other games show, and the whole game as a whole felt a whole lot more refined.(I know feeling is a very subjective thing, so forgive me.) This doesn't make it better, think of it as the jack-of-all-trades of the dark souls franchise. It does all the things the other games does, but without any of the weird choices that elevated certain sections above others in the other games. It has great player versus player content, but dark souls 2 does it slightly better. The world design is great, but dark souls 1 does it slightly better, so on so forth. The combat is possibly the best in the series, as well as offering the most consistently good boss fights in the souls series. It is another great game in the souls series, and its' got its' own fair share of weird Miyazaki decisions. If you didn't like other souls games you will not like this one.
