A lovely game where you get to commit warcrimes on unsuspecting raiders

Great past-time with a mountain of mods in the workshop, but the game is solid without them. The base game allows you to choose from 3 modes of progression called story tellers, one that is "fair" that tries to scale with what you have, A deceptive one that is chill until she throws everything at you, & one that is completely random. this system you can change mid-game & is ontop of the difficulty setting. this game allows a lot of choice and tweaking while not overly punishing if you choose not to go the meta (outside the hardest difficulty)

This game offers near endless replay value and will suck you in for hours on end. some people feel that the best parts are when your colony is on the brink of certain disaster and you're just barely struggling to survive, but I really enjoy the calm & productive aspects where you start from nothing and build up. You can easily tailor the game to your desired taste & add QoL mods to make the experience smoother, alternitively you could add Vanila expanded mods that keeps the art direction & feel of the game intact OR you can go full Anime-waifu METAL GEAR and add whatever makes sense to you into the world.

The DLCs are glorified mods but they're nice additions. Personally I would prefer them to be 10$USD but I still think they're worth the investment especially for compatibility/unlocked functionality with all mods. You don't need them to have fun though and I'd say only to pick them up once you've gotten 500-1000 hours, unless you really want more official content (Royalty) or official ways of making the game harder/easier Role Play(Ideology) Or ofcourse you want to support the dev.
