Early Access Review
I'm going to update this review in the future if this game improves, but currently this game just feels like a bunch of boring, lifeless assets slapped together, and I know it's early access but you guys shouldn't be charging $25 dollars in it's current state, and it doesn't feel like you guys are making progress on it, I know you may be adding days and new weapons, but whats the point if the gameplay is clunky and boring? fix the issues this game has and then move onto the missions and weapons.

EDIT: As I promised in my original review, I would update it when significant changes are made, so the game has been released out of Early Access which means it should be a polished product right? (wrong) the game has many positives including a decent selection of weapons, classic postal humor and a creative story.. but that doesn't take away from the fact the game is janky at it's core, and numerous bugs are still present although it has been released out of early access, which I think was a ridiculous idea considering the frequent bugs players can run into and the unpolished gameplay.

The game's price has now been raised from 25$ to 40$ and I genuinely think it's only worth around 15$ because of how lifeless the game feels at times, the buildings don't even have NPC's inside them 90% of the time, and objects in the environment are not interactable at all which is really disappointing and ends up making the game feel cheap. One good thing I should mention is that many of the character models have been improved somewhat, although they still look very last gen and like they are made out of plastic, they still look better than when I first bought the game.

Anyway, buy the game off some 3rd party website or wait for a steam sale because after a couple hours of playing this game, you will have done everything there is to do, and seen everything there is to see. It seems they will keep frequently updating the game regardless of the fact it's out of early access, but I doubt they will completely overhaul the core mechanics that need to be fixed (like the janky shooting/melee combat).

PS: I will update again once I feel there is enough added content/patches.

Appreciate it Jack Gates, I wish people were more honest in their reviews instead of always trying to be funny and write "meme" reviews, same thing goes for many reviews on games released with steam, people aren't honest which is the whole point of a review, anyway- Merry Christmas

Thanks man. Had to wad through endless meme reviews to find something of actual substance. All I wanted to know is exactly what you said.

I only buy early access titles if they feel feature complete, unless I want to support a small dev, because I feel it's a gamble otherwise.

i mean the point of buying an early access game is to support it's development?

i wouldn't expect them to build this game off of pennys lol, when i buy an early access game it's because i want to support the devs to make it into the product it should be

being able to test features and give feedback as they come out is just a bonus <3

Yes, Postal 4 isn't finished, and it needs time to upgrade, totaly agree it's a majordowngrade since it isn't finished at all.
The 25$ price is a bit high, but RWS is an indie developer that has no publishers or any sort of help whatsover. They did a big gamble publishing this game in a very shitty state and they knew it as well. Their gamble paid off and right know they know we trust them allot and are working on the game very hardly, they even said in their new developer update that they jumped from 8 developers to 35.

Right now I am just hoping they keep on improving the game until it's a finished state, improve monday since Tuesday is a huge improvement over it, and get every other day of the weekend finished with everything improved.

Good luck to RWS improving everything.

Yeah honestly Postal 2 has been crashing on me since like the early 2000s and I've had numerous computers, some high end, some not. Postal 2 always crashes for me, especially on the later days. I agree with Silver Vampire, too. Early access is necessary for the development of indie games with dev teams who do not have millions of dollars to sink into development so that they may polish and tidy up everything before a wide release. Also, rather than outsource their post production (or keep it in house) bug testing and fixing, and beta testing too, there is an audience as large as however many people purchased the game totally willing to report bugs as they encounter them, and just generally provide feedback. To give this a negative review is kind of like acknowlegding all of this but saying it's all bad to do such things. Like yeah, an early access game is going to be in an unfinished state, which means (for some, obviously you) an UNPLAYABLE state, water is wet.

First of all, this is completely my opinion, and if you ever even played POSTAL 2, currently this game is a major downgrade. So what have YOU been smoking my guy?

Bro, your review is whack. This game's the shit. Idk what the Hell you've been smoking.
