I will survive.

This game reminds me of Horizon Zero Dawn but in cartoony version. The game itself is both astonishing and vibrant that makes me wanting to play more. Story is heart-warming along with the well crafted background music that plays a huge part. Combat system can be very punishing a new players but also can be rewarding when you get the hang of it. Combat system may not be the best as I need to customize my own keyboard settings to improve performance, but overall it works. Certain puzzles are hard to figure out and you have to pay close attention until you see it. Tons of challenges level unlock even after you complete the game which is another plus. The rots are cute ngl.

Man I don't know where to begin cause I have a lot to say but I try keep the spoiler as less as possible. I'm a huge fan for both zombie games, movies and tv series. When I saw Days Gone trailer in E3 few years ago and it showed Deacon is dealing with a bunch of horde at the sawmill, watching him take down the infected alone. I was totally hooked by the gameplay trailer and was really looking forward to it. Ever since it launched in PS4, I heard lots of critics from it and I couldn't believed it. When DG was released in Steam, I immediately bought it with a discount price.

And now I've 60+ hours in DG, which proves that I like this game so much. DG was able to deliver the element of being immersive, addictive and most importantly, having fun. Let's talk about Deacon's bike, I gotta say the bike mechanics such as driving and drifting is smooth like butter. Bike upgrade and customization are pretty well done. Deacon's bike reminds me a lot of Daryl's bike from "The Walking Dead" series. Besides, weapon and skills/perks upgrade are simple yet effective during combat situation which can help you to stand a better chance against enemies and infected hordes. Story is well-paced, intriguing and somehow predictable in my opinion. Side-mission are little repetitive but I'm okay with it. Oh boi, talking about the voice acting, Deacon's voice sounds so surreal and intonations were spot on, this goes along with other character as well. Kudos to the voice actors. I would also like to address the facial expression and emotion during cutscene were far more accurate than I imaged. Overall the graphic looks decent, atmosphere and environment are breathtaking. I found myself just riding the bike while enjoy exploring the world.

There are some down side I want to mention from my experience. The infected wolves are so freaking annoying, they made no sound until they suddenly jump on you and chase you like crazy that can catch up with the speed of my bike. A freaking bike! It turns out I need to boost the bike's nitro to outrun them or shoot the hell outta my way. Enemy AI was a little inconsistent, there are times some AI spawned out of nowhere until I hear them yelled. Sometimes the AI were slow to respond my character's existence until I shoot them. Sniper is also annoying tho, like they can always shoot you without missing even once and most of the time they hide on top of the trees which makes it harder to spot them.

This game ends with an open ending and I wasn't prepared for that. Days Gone has a huge potential to have a sequel but sadly Sony cancelled the project and I honestly can't see why they did that. Lots of character could easily make it to Days Gone 2 due to the fact that they are still alive or MIA. I don't want to name who but if you finish the game, you know what I'm talking about. I'm gonna call this out that the ending is only a beginning. I just want to say: "NERO I'm waiting for you! Cause I'm gonna kill every last one of you."
