If it wasn't for the fact that I don't have an iPhone, I would have bought this on my phone for sure. This is one of the most addicting games I ever played and it's able to do all of this through it's complex gameplay, yet it's so easy to pick up and play. I still haven't even beat the boss yet, but the time I have spent playing this game wasn't wasted at all. You could play it for hours on end, constantly striving to reach that end goal, and hoping that one day you will see the words victory over the endgame screen. Or you can play it for a little bit, take your ship through a few quadrants, put it down, and come back later when you feel ready.

Although on the surface the game seems pretty basic, that isn't the case at all. This game is brimming with content, from various amounts of ships, species, weaponry, equipment, augmentations, etc. each of them having different qualities ranging from very minimal changes like more damage, or faster speed, to huge differences in the types of ships you use, that completely change how you approach the game. The music in this game is also amazing, using the ambiance of space to create these various calming sounds. Even when you're in combat the game retains this soothing motif, which really allows you to focus on the battle at hand. The retro art style also blends really well with the games simple aesthetic and is still able to look amazing.

Now as I mentioned before I haven't even reached the final boss yet, and now would probably be a good time to tell that FTL is super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard. Combat in this game can get punishing, with the amount of weapons and systems available to you, the same would also apply to your enemies, and believe me they'll take advantage of it. In the early part of your playthrough, you'll probably make it through each fight with minimal to no damage, but if you don't start improving your strategies for combat you will get absolutely floored by the fights in the later part your run. You have to make sure you're taking out some of the enemies systems, or else they'll just keep hammering away at your shield and health, while also keeping your crew alive and healthy. The farther you get the more cutthroat the combat gets, and you'll have to start hitting other systems besides guns and shield. You will most likely not beat this game on your first few playthroughs and that's fine, the developers themselves have said that it's a part of the game, and you'll keep on trying to attain that goal, until eventually you reach it. However, the game doesn't end when you win, there are still other ships to try, or other methods you might want to try out, experimentation is the name of the game here. Outsmarting your opponent to achieve victory, or sometimes brute force alone, if you have strong enough weapons or equipment.

Overall, this is one of the most engaging games I have played in a long time, and I hope you have just as much fun with it as I had.

Oh yeah mods are a thing too, but i'll leave it up to you to find out what you want to use.

A exellent instalment in the M.G.S. Franchise the game looks amazing and there are beuitful sights to be seen but thats not why your here you are looking for Story, Gameplay. Story: You Snake [not to be confused with Snake from the follwing games Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of libertey, and Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots] wake up from a 9 year coma only to be ivaded by CIPHER a miltary group trying to kill you but a bandage man saves you and you escape in a van only to crash and ride away on horse back with Ocelot you then go to save your friend Miller and you now have the open world have fun. Gameplay: Is awsome the game runs smoothley althogh for some reason it keeps given me consle pop ups like push Y when it should say E but that wont matter once you fiqure out controls it does not matter the game plays like most other TPS games and has kind of departed from its more tankier control routes also they have added reflex mode a new feature when you get caught time slows down and allows you to correct mistakes and a chicken hat that makes it to were if enemies spot you three times they shoot you but limits your ranking to A only you can not get S ranking.

Final verdict 9.5/10 AMAZING must buy worth every penny.

The Vanilla game is about a 8.5/10, but this review will include The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification (TSLRCM) so that's why my scores higher.

This game is probably one of the best Bioware RPG's... Hell even one of the best RPG's ever. The game falls under what I like to call the 'Chrono Trigger' effect let me explain, this means any game that is under 15-20 hours long but has loads of replayability. With that being said lets get into the review.

Pros:

- The characters in this game are amazing, because of how complex and developed they are. First off, I need to say that most of the voice acting in this game is superb, everybody gives amazing performances in this game, like Kreia (Nice mix between Terrifying and calm), HK-47 (His lines are some of the funniest things I've ever heard in my life), and Atton (Starts out as a sterotypical jerk, but transforms into one of the best characters in the game).

- The gameplay variety helps keep combat fresh, because of the amount of diffrent playstyles one can have. How about Techy Jedi who specialty is Computers and Demolitions or a Jedi who uses blasters and grenades to take down his foes.

- The storytelling and world building in this game is absolutely fantastic, and it greatly improves upon KOTOR 1's very one note themes and ideas. Characters in this game greatly effect the game and have actual stakes in the plot, each of them is unique and bring all sorts of great personalities to the table. The Story itself takes you through some of Star Wars best moments of all time, and the stuff that happens in this game are shocking and amazing.

-They nail the Star Wars aesthetic perfectly. Especially the music, this game has an amazing soundtrack, and really paints the picture of a dark and bleak story well.

- This game has not only been better optimized for modern PCs, but it also has mods thanks to the steam workshop (Unless you've been using Nexus or GameFront the whole time, in which case props to you), which instead of being mostly cosmetic stuff, some of them actually finish nearly completed parts of the game and give it to you for free after you buy the game. If you get this game 100% you need to get The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification (TSLRCM), and also get the M4-78 mod which is a droid planet that was unfinished but dedicated modders finished the rest of us it.

Cons:

- The ending is really disappointing since you've been spending the whole game getting to understand and love these characters, so you want there to be a fitting conclusion to their stories. Note when I say ending I don't mean the ending part on Malachor 5 where Kreia tells the player what happens next, but instead what transpires after you escape, the final cutscene completely drops the ball since the game just abruptly ends, no real character conclusions just cuts straight to credits. That moment in the game would've been the best time to show each of the characters reflecting on what just transpired.

- The combat variety is good, but the actual combat itself is a real double-edge sword. The combat system goes off the D&D dice system which in combat usually means you roll to hit things and how much damage you do to them, although yes skills contribute to how good you do, a lot of the time it's just straight up luck if you hit somebody or deal any meaningful damage to them. Even if you have great dexterity your guy could just totally miss and get destroyed by some cannok since it got a really good roll.

Conclusion:

Although the game has it's definite flaws (Especially if you play the base vanilla game) I think I can safely give this game a 10/10, because the pros far outweigh the cons, and this game contains some of the best bit of Star Wars story-telling of all time, and completely shows the first game up in that category. If you haven't already bought this game WHAT ARE YOU DOING, GO BUY IT RIGHT NOW!!! I guarantee you'll find something to love in it.
