Fluppi, I have 2k hours in this game and I'm only reviewing it now. Thanks for 1.0, thanks for experimental, and thanks for finally helping us modders out. I can't wait to see more!

And if you're reading this and you don't have brick rigs, WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

This is literally the lego game that all lego games wish they could be. The only true lego game where you can let your creativity fly rather than play on rails, this game already allows you to do almost anything and, with the path it's headed with the new updates, it's only getting better!

BUY BRICK RIGS!

Played this since the beta, best game to have a good time with friends, you can tell it was made with passion and it's extremely fun, hilarious at times while offering a very high skill ceiling. Sometimes the hits can feel janky and you're like "Wait that one scratch killed me but my 5 stabs didn't kill you? I disagree but alright" and the control bindings often reset and are unclear which is a pain but it's still extremely enjoyable, and the fact that you can play through steam remote play makes it 100% worth it

THE Worthy sequel to Men of War: Assault Squad 2

Amazing improved mechanics and engine
Massive amounts of high quality assets and vehicles, much more variety than in vanilla MOW:AS 2
Painstakingly handcrafted missions scripted to near perfection that you can get lost in
Stunning graphics
Dynamic campaign is an absolute blast
Much less crashing than MOW:AS 2, more polished EVEN in the first release version
So much more

I have 1.7k hours in MOW:AS 2 and have modded it extensively, this game did not let me down in any way. If the devs keep bugfixing it and adding in more content, this could quite possibly become the LITERAL BEST RTS GAME IN THE WORLD

It's not just recommended, it's a must have, literally buy it right now or i will teleport over to you and turn you into a convertible

11/10

IT STILL HAS A LOAD OF GLITCHES THOUGH

Infinite modding potential, amazing, helpful and kind devs, the modding community is awesome although the playerbase is a mixed bag

Biggest con I have is that the SDK is super super buggy and there are really dumb limitations on how you can make / upload your mod, and some hardcoded stuff in the SDK, as well as zero documentation, but knowing it's been a few months since we got modding, i'm hopeful for those issues to be tackled soon

Also super hyped for the armor overhaul update!

85 HOUR EDIT: I still love this game and enjoy it regularly. The fact that you can get this amazing game for half the price of a single WoT / WT "premium tank" speaks to how corrupt and disgusting the modern gaming industry is. You want to get your money's worth? Buy Post Scriptum, it's worth every cent.

Only just started, and only got this because a friend bought it for me. I thought i wouldn't like it, i'm not a fan of 2D games like this, even less of sidescrollers, i never played terraria and other games of this type that i've played always felt shallow and boring, but this one? hell no, this one is WONDERFUL, i'm having a BLAST playing it and i'm so glad my friend dragged me into this game because it's legit making me happier, it's fun and relaxing, and the mods are really cool too! while from an outside point of view the building system might seem really limited compared to other games like minecraft (it did to me) you can actually make pretty awesome stuff in it too and i'm really proud of my first house!

100% recommended

MORE HOUR EDIT: Still amazing, still love it, still playing it now and then with my friends when the oportunity presents itself and, even 174 hours and 300+ mods later, i'm still being surprised, finding new stuff, and learning new stuff of this game!

Worth every penny

it's good and fun, BUT

NEVER play online, just open a private personal server and play with your buddies, or in single player, the multiplayer gameplay loop is AWFUL, most servers have nothing to do with the game itself and are RPs and stuff, the few that do are massively changed and will take parts of the game away just to sell them back to you via currency (sometimes REAL currency, almost all servers are pay to win)
even in vanilla servers that aren't pay to win, the multiplayer gameplay loop is massively frustrating, the pvp itself is fun when you're going around and have to be careful (except on massive servers where there's many people and you literally can't visit most of the map or be insta-killed) and the game itself is fun to play with friends, if challenging, but even after you get through all the challenges, play for weeks and build up your base you'll just log in one day for it to be all gone since raids are something encouraged by the game itself, leaving you to either make this game your second life and constantly log in to protect your base and keep an eye on it or just have to start over eternally since your base WILL get raided no matter how much you hide it unless you're constantly there to protect it. no matter how much i looked for it i havent been able to find any vanilla servers that don't scam you with pay to win and don't have raids, and if you're gonna do PVE, you might as well skip servers entirely and just play locally in single player or private servers

Now ♥♥♥♥♥♥ multiplayer gameplay aside the game itself is a LOT of fun with deep and fun gameplay, lots of detail, fun exploration, tons of items to find and things to do and quite fair monetization (free game, 5 bucks for permanent premium is a massively good deal, and the microtransactions are cosmetic-only and you can often get them in-game, and most of them look absolutely fricking awful anyway)

Mod support is also awesome, curated maps are really good and there's a lot of great content, and the sequel to this game so far from the sneak peeks looks like it's going to be great

so overall yes, the game is great, just STAY AWAY FROM PUBLIC SERVERS if you dont like to be scammed or suffer permanently

I know my review time says 66 hours but believe me i played it a LOT more from the external installer, i was a war thunder veteran until at least a year ago, i grinded through both planes AND ground forces up to 5-6 battle rating in ALL nations, here's my review

this game is- simply said, a SCAM, it tries to draw you in under the pretense of fun and historical accuracy, the gameplay experience initially delivers, the mechanics being nice and fun, the vehicles quite detailed, the combat being fairly enjoyable, but once you start going down the rabbit hole, it becomes hell.

Don't think you'll be having fun in this game past early game, the grind is INSANE and CRUEL, only made less awful if you buy OUTRAGEOUSLY priced microtransactions that will drain you DRY, most new updates only add premiums or super top tier vehicles that you'll NEVER get to unless you sink in an UNHOLY amount of hours and money, TONS of fun vehicles are locked behind ABSURD paywalls (60+ for one vehicle in the store, some vehicles in the marketplace can go for THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS) and the "event" vehicles are not any better. Events used to be fun but they've been slowly but steadily increasing the difficulty to the point where an event just means your new job became playing war thunder for a whole week non-stop, unless you wanna pay ~60 bucks to skip the grind, it's not even "fun and challenging" it's just tedious and infuriating

This company doesn't care about the players, or historical accuracy, or gameplay, or fun, or integrity, they promised the game wouldnt go past WW2 long ago- they broke that after they saw the money that they could get by increasing the grind. There's bugs and glitches and features that the community has been asking to add or fix for AGES, but all are turned down in favor of more grind, more events, more premium vehicles. And of course, there's no way to play for fun, custom battles are super limited, you can only play the vehicles you grinded, so unless you just wanna play with the starter tanks you're gonna have to grind your ass off in an extremely hard, infuriating and unrewarding progression in a game where every single possible thing needs to be grinded or bought, or both

The "simulator mode!" battles which this game pretty much keeps to be able to boast about being an "online sim" are pretty much just a much more tedious realistic battles with the camera stuck in first person in the planes, and in the tanks LITERALLY ON TOP OF THE TURRET (these lazy people didn't even bother making interiors for tanks because who cares about an actual simulator experience am i right?) they've long been abandoned and are super limited in what and when you can play them, lots of times even if you try you wont be able to get into one if you dont have the right vehicles grinded out, and they're tedious and dont offer anything new anyway

Another awful factor that contributes to this is the community: super competitive and often toxic, they'll also defend the game from any criticism (regardless of if it's fair) and will throw attacks at you instead about how you should "git gud" there's also lots of drama and hate in public matches (which you'll spend most of your time on since you DONT EARN XP in private lobbies, GOD FORBID people actually enjoying the "progression" or *gasp* SKIPPING IT!

Progression was originally concieved to make games rewarding, in this game it's just a method to make you SUFFER until you pay up

Truth is, if a game isn't enjoyable, it's not good, and war thunder will lure you in, appear to be enjoyable for a bit, and then slowly turn up the heat until you're the "this is fine" meme, suffering through countless hours of ginding and barely having any amount of fun. Free to play, pay to enjoy

If EA pulled any of this ♥♥♥♥ they'd be completely shunned and attacked into the ground, but since this is a niche "Freeeeeee to plaaaaaaaaaaaaay" title, they sneak under the radar with these absolutely abusive mechanics with little to no criticism or backlash

Even if you go the paying route and say "ok, i'm just gonna pay my way into having fun!" good luck, you won't, each decent tank costs the same as a whole AAA title and you can sink hundreds into the grind and barely get anywhere

Do yourself a favor if you havent played it yet and RUN, go to another game which is actually designed to be fun and not to scam you, and if you're a war thunder veteran, for the love of god, do yourself a favor and quit, this game will do you no good, your time is better spent elsewhere, it took me years to get disillussioned with this game and actually quit, but i'm a lot happier after the initial "withdrawal" with lots of better games to spend my time in

Another tank game will come along eventually, scams like war thunder and world of tanks won't be the only option.

Hands down the best flight simulator i've ever played. Don't let the hour count decieve you, i've been playing non-steam copies of this since i was a little kid, good physics, good handling (with joystick) a nice plane variety, modding support, campaigns, many maps, multiplayer, it has everything!
No more will you have to deal with the trashy abusive grind and monetization of war thunder or WaW!
No more will you have to deal with the outrageous and overpriced value of modern flight sims like il-2 battle of stalingrad, which in turn give you like 8 planes for each 60 bucks you throw in!

Pure. Perfect. Fun. Flight Sim, dogfight, bombing, torpedoing, all you need!

And best of all? Mods! something the modern gaming industry shuns since they end up outshining their own games, this one was no different! download the BAT free expansion (latest, 2020 IL-2 modpack) and you'll have MORE PLANES THAN WAR THUNDER ranging from ww1 biplanes and the wright flyer to modern JETS

This is how flight sims should be, always have been, and always be in the future. This game is a MASTERPIECE

It does what it is advertised as, and more

does all that it was advertised as, it might even have been underhyped, because this game could be much more than a heist game, this voxel engine could be used for all kinds of fun stuff, racing games, fighting games, derby games. It already has a map creator on release and from what i underestood more modding support is planned for the future, so i think this game will be great, and even without all the speculation of what it could become, i absolutely recommend it

EDIT: 162 more hours into the game I can say i still fully get behind my original statement (which i made 2.5 hours in) and i must say this is a game i'll be in for the long term. New updates, better mod support, very helpful and friendly devs, rather open modding community full of nice people and endless potential! they're even looking into making a multiplayer mode at some point! this game deserves game of the year, what a shame the game awards are corrupt and rigged as ♥♥♥♥....
