Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the soon releasing Yakuza Kiwami (Yakuza 1 remaster).
It is set in Japans golden 80's were there was a cash overflow.
I won't spoiler the story, but it is like a typical japanese Yakuza oriented movie/game/manga/anime.

Gameplay wise it is a brawler, each character has 4 fighting styles to switch on the fly with tons of goofy sidequests and minigames which is typical for the franchise.
There is equipment/weapons and you level up via money earned this time (spending it for skills aka "investing in yourself").

Also there are shoes that meow (mew shoes) when you equip them and walk, so get this game!
