The thing that draws a lot of us to dayz is the same thing that many new players complain about. Permadeath. There's no other game like this right now. you start with nothing, spend hours trying to loot and survive until you eventually find weapons AND ammo.

That rush of not wanting to lose your stuff is unmatched in any game. I play a lot of FPs, competitive fps at that, nothing has ever got my heart pounding like dayz.

And this is what many people complain about. I start on the coast and I'm lost, there's no map, there's no "squad spawns" loot is hard to find, I have to run for 30 minutes to find military gear.

Those sound like complaints, but those are literally examples of why this game doesn't suck.
