a pure, trimmed down rts. really good

Ive only just recently started playing Skybolt, but i can immediatly tell that it is and will continue to be an amazing game, i've never had this much button mashing fun, and will probably add more to this review once ive sinked more hours into it, but yeah, good game, tight controls, boppin soundtrack, loving the colour switching mechanics and the 3d cell shaded aesthetic. Hell yeah, keep it up!

suspicious lack of toasters however

Love the fight mechanics, and love the visual aesthetic that the developer was going for, and i understand that this is only a demo/early access, but the themes are seriously throwing me off, its like the devs are trying to fit too many things into one 30-ish minute playtime run, its got tomb raider treasure hunting, Dark Souls boss fights (and a neat bonfire) and Nier-Automata sword fighting (or maybe that might be stretching it a little). Overall i love it, and particularly like the futuristic/ mecha theme at the start (thats just a bit of personal bias) and the fact that that seemed to be the theme that it was starting off on. The whole Tomb Raider puzzle solving and treasure hunting seemed kinda off, as if the game wasn’t sure what it was trying to do, especially with the amount of cutscenes included. So in summary;

Gameplay: 8/10
Visuals: 10/10
Audio: 8/10
Story: 6.5/10

I get that it’s just a demo, but the whole storyline kinda threw me off

Absolute masterpiece of a game, with an entrenching story and even better soundtrack, what it makes up in lack of replayability, it makes up for the fact that the story never really ends. once you finish the main story, you try and try again from different character's perspectives and you are able to constantly adjust and tweak your playstyle to suit your wants

Great soundtrack

What can i really say that has not already been said?
It's a *bloody* masterpiece of a game, and incredibly thought out to the smallest details without fail.
it is amazing how the developers managed to sow the seeds of concepts and ideas of how things may not be what it seems until that final fatal punch.
If it is not too late already, and you are hoping to play the game yourself, i would definitly tell you to go in blind and swat away any kind of spoilers or endings like a radioactive fly. Not even i was able to shy away from spoilers, but since i had no idea what they were talking about, it flew over my head like a failed roundhouse kick to my face. That is, until i finally got to the part that was mentioned and the kick came in for another round and nailed me straight in the face.

Just saying, this girl Sayori becomes pretty important later on. Just don't leave her hanging
