One of the funnniest games I have played and one of the most skill expressive games I have played.

Thanks to the wonderful emotes, voicelines and physics a lot of Moments happen where I laughed out loud infront of me while playing alone, which is quite rare.
Due to the community being really solid and full of people that are also competetive it can be a bit harsh to newer players that want to get into the game, but you can still have fun in pubs and if you want to improve you go on "duel servers" and ask for help. The majority of the community is really nice and helpful.

The balancing of the game is at a great spot on right now. The difference of the weapons are big enough that it feels like you are playing a different weapon but at the same time the difference is not that big that some weapons are just thousand times better than others (except for the meme weapons ofc)

If you like medieval theme, fighting games (kind of), fashion, a game where your skill actually matters, memes and you dont mind dying a lot at the beginning and you dont have a bad mindset then give it a try.

After playing it completely I have to say that it doesnt feel at all like any "piranha bytes" game.

Characters:

I like that they are being rough with you, but the main character is just awful and is like a fanboy of a wannabe young cheeky hansolo. Please change him to more of a down to earth character. Who also is resonable and feels like the only normal person. I cant say much about the other since there isnt too much dialoge

Gameplay/fighting:

Gothic is a pure PC game, but the game feels clearly like its made for a controller. Its just awful to use the menu with mouse and keyboard.

Since there is only sword play I can only comment on that.
They basically added a crosshair like in "For Honor".
Blocking:
It is way to easy and doesnt punish you at all. Let 50% of the damage or so go through

Parry:
Doesnt feel like it works to 100%. I was fighting the guard at the gate, mainly to test the combat, and when parrying you can get a light attack on him, but not a heavy attack. A good option would be to remove blocking and have only the parry to be able to block

Attack:
The heavy attack is currently useless beacuase they just dodge or block it. When getting a heavy attack on them it is not rewarding enough for the struggle you have to put in. When the enemy is doing a heavy attack, or the wolf is doing one you can just put a light attack in between, that way you hit them first and they get a hit, or have to dodge you, which makes you invurnable to the wolves. You should put in a combo system, just like in gothic.

Enemies:
For the monsters. The wolves are okay, but the scavanger and snapper are just awful. The wolfs are 3 so they can circle you which makes it the hardest encounter in the test game. Even tho they seem to struggle when you dont use the lock feature. I dont feel like the bad meat does anything to them. The scavangers and the snapper only have close attacks which means you just walk backwards, do a light attack and then move backwards again and that is how you can easily beat them. They should have a forward attack like the wolves
For the humans. Just like that scavangers they cant reach you except when they are dodging your attack. They should have some sort of combo or reach attack
For both. They are dodging waaaaaaaaaay to often and you cant do anything about it when using the system. No one likes missing the whole time. That has nothing to do with fun

Feeling

The most important part probably. The demo doesnt give enough to see the behaivour of the NPCs, but it seems alright for me. The world seems fine with me, but what makes gothic gothic to me is that you are a no one. A loser that gets robbed and beat down in this rough world who then builds up to a legend, but I dont get this feeling at all. When giving the painkillers it was nice that he was scummy. After the dialoge I wanted to beat him down to get it back. When he was nearly down he just healed to full. Otherwise I could have taken him down with ease and not because I am really good at games, but because the combat got flaws. You have to go from a zero to a hero and not from a hero to a superhero
What should have happen: I get ripped off > I want to get my stuff back by beating him down > I get beaten down myself and he steals of me additional stuff > after 10h in the game I come back and beat him down to get my stuff back + his stuff

Conclusion
It doesnt feel like a Gothic game at all, but more like a bad cheap RPG. If it wouldnt have the name gothic and the game wouldnt include those iconic names I wouldnt have known that it is Gothic.
As a homework to the devs: play Gothic 1 and 2 to get the idea of gothic and then Risen 1 to know how to make combat look easy and basic but still making it challanging.

EDIT:
The beginning is just awful and gives the feeling that the nameless hero is already some sort of adventurer and not a no one. Just scrap it and just copy the one from the original game

It would be an okay game if it would cost $3.
You got a lot of regions in which you can loot and gear up. If you leave one of those zones you lose all your equipment that you got from that region.
Moving to another region makes you maybe discover new regions, but that is it. The regions got all the same difficulty. So if you complete one region, you basically completed the whole game, since there is no point in playing another region and depending on your cheese and luck you can get a legendary weapon and complete the region really fast.

I am TRULY disappointed and my day is ruined
