I have owned DayZ and played it for quite sometime now. For someone coming off the mod, I was really upset with this game when it first dropped. This game for a long time was like a really hot ex. You know you are going to get the same thing every time you come back but you do it anyway. That was how I felt at least until the full release. When the game full released, it dropped with an entirely new engine that changed how the game plays and feels and made it a much less frustrating experience. This game has drastically improved and I think a big saving grace for Standalone was modding. Modding turns this from a good game to a favorite game for me. It works kind of in mod packs on a launcher like Tekkit was for Minecraft so it is stupidly user friendly. DayZ is the soul reason for the survival genre of games and in my personal opinion is by far still the best! DayZ is a game everyone should try. Worth every penny.
