Very nice free tech demo even if it often runs pretty bad on good systems.

For context I played this game hoping for a good sword fighting game with reactive and at least somewhat physics based enemies. I've played it through the campaign for a couple hours and this has been my experience as someone who is just looking for sword combat.

The Good:
The general parrying and sword combat (when it works):
I did get what I was looking for, at least to some extent, the parrying is pretty good and blocking the enemies hits is probably the best part of the game and it's unfortunate how it feels buried beneath everything else. This is especially good when you are fighting unarmoured enemies, it is just unfortunate how rarely this is the case.

The game runs well:
I have noticed in the reviews some people have been having issues with this but the game has ran consistently well for me, even on the very large horse levels. This will vary from person to person of course.

The Devs:
The devs do seem to be continuing to update the game which is good to see and I hope to see it continue.

The Bad:
The Armoured zombies:
Using a sword against armoured enemies is at best ineffective and at worse incredibly irritating, and largely consists of hitting them till they fall over and then trying to jab them in the face till the stab connects.
Judging by where the game was going when I stopped almost every enemy was an archer, a skeleton or an armoured zombie which is such a strange decision when the starting zombies without armour are so much more enjoyable to fight.

The Skeletons:
I'm not really sure why they are here to be honest, the zombies are far more enjoyable to fight. They have a non-physics based roll which they can use repeatedly on no cool-down to get behind you, seemingly with the meta-play of getting you to tangle your vr wire and trip you over, a clever tactic although not enjoyable in the slightest.
They also lack any feedback on hits, unlike the zombies who can lose limbs and spurt blood, the skeletons will simply take the hits till they die, they will not lose limbs (no idea why they chose that to be the case) and cannot be stabbed (again, no idea why) resulting in the best course of action to be: knock them over and hit them till they stop getting up.

The Archers:
This one is probably personal preference but I'm looking for sword melee combat and whenever it spawns an archer I am just disappointed. Maybe if I were looking to use the archery in the game I would have more to say on this matter, at least they aren't armoured (up top the point I played to).

The Horseback Riding:
This seems to be something they added recently however I must say I consistently dreaded getting a horse-level each time I started a new mission (you don't get a choice). The maps for the horse levels are very large compared to the others, which wouldn't be a problem if using the horses were enjoyable. They control like a go-cart with tank controls, doesn't feel very natural at all. After the first few levels of this I ended up just getting off the horses for these and doing it on foot, which wouldn't be as much of a problem if the maps weren't huge and filled with archers, basically not a fun time and was the final straw for me stopping playing.

Lack of Mod Support:
I wasn't sure whether to include this but all of the issues I have found would be easily fixed with the support of even a small modding community, however from looking at the discussions is seems the devs have said they will not support the modding of the game which feels like a terrible missed opportunity, not just in terms of the additional content but also the ability for players to tailor their experience more to what they want from the game.

TLDR
A good basis with very strange design decisions which I personally find it hard to derive much enjoyment from.

One playthrough takes about 10 minutes.
It is a pretty fun 10 minutes.
It is free.
Pretty much no reason not to try it if you have a vive.
