From all the roguelike/lite games I've played, this one is one of the best. It manages to break the repetitive nature of it's genre through fun and satisfying gameplay. The progression and difficulty system is great. When you start the main source of improvement will be unlocking powerful weapons and scrolls. Once you get close to unlocking everything you will already know enough to beat the game. Once you beat it you will unlock another difficulty. Every time you will become good enough to complete a difficulty, another one will be unlocked up to a certain point at which even experienced players fail.

What else will keep you playing? Well... there's a set of 6 characters, 5 of which you have to unlock. All of them are unique, fit for different game styles and you should be able to find your favorite one. There's also lots of various weapons, effect giving scrolls and character modifying ascensions. Combine these and you will find yourself a variety of builds you can choose. Though most of the time you probably will be choosing similar, most effective set of skills and weapons.

There are also quite a few ways to challange yourself.
The game has a timer that stops only at certain times giving you time to plan or take a brather, daily runs which modify the gameplay and one more thing you will have to find out yourself.

I recommend playing the game with friends, though its also fun solo.

If I were to rank it based on the roguelike/lite game I've played it would be better than Gungeon and a bit worse than Noita.

If you like this type of games you should at least give it a try.
