Edit: The fine developers of Rim World have listened to feedback from the community and are throwing in a patch and have made vocal their intent to better integrate DLC in the future. Praise be to Randy. I am keeping my word and changing this review to positive as my only serious gripes will be addressed in a patch coming within the next week as of writing. I will leave the original text from the review below for the sake of posterity.

This is the hardest negative review I ever had to write as Rim World is one of my favorite games and this DLC on its own is hands down the best bit of content that has released for Rim World to date. I really love all the new content I'm obsessed with creating funky meta humans and having robot armies to make life on the rim all that more enjoyable. My main issue is that all this DLC doesn't really sync with the DLC that came before it.

The Ideology DLC was a huge boon to the game and made every colony feel special so naturally when a new DLC came out dealing with obvious themes of speciasim, children, and technology I was expecting to be able to tweak how my colonies ideology felt regarding those things. I had a simple goal of making a faction of human baseline supremacists who believed in purging mutants (a Rim World player does a war crime shocker). I scrolled through the Ideology tab only to find their was no options regarding opinions of meta humans or any of the new content. Trans humanist pawns currently receive no buffs for being gene modded, sangunophages don't have any intresting mechanics, A colony of Luddites has no opinions of the super advanced mechs roaming the colony, the act of raising a child and a child's place in society has ZERO options.

The content in this DLC is hands down some of the best Ludeon have ever done but until they patch the DLC to include references to the new content this DLC will remain flawed and this review negative

EDIT: Some recent updates have tweaked how some things interact like Mechinator armor gives a royal bonus, but ultimately the core issues still remain. I'm certain their are moders out there who are rushing to pick up the slack but I believe the core benefit of using DLC over mods is synchronicity and using mods to achieve that is not something that should be considered fine for a 25$ DLC

Holy shitsnickers batman, actual critique. Thats rare to come by these days on this DLC. It would be nice if the DLCs could work more together but I have a feeling that this is the price we pay for how modfriendly rimworld tends to be. Either way tho, that is a very fair point to make and one I have to agree with. Didnt think Id come to the negatives and actually agree with one lol
