When this game came out, it was like no other game before. This game will always be remembered as a timeless classic. Of course if you are planning on getting this game, I would not recommend this one. As the game is rather broken and needs an extensive fix. There are better options out there.

I never played realmyst, but it is basically an upgrade in the graphics. I think your best solution for this game is to run the game in scummvm. Right now they support the game, but it is untested. This would be the 2D version of the game (http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/DEV/myst/) . Or you could buy realmyst and the expensive pricetag.

Only played it very briefly in my childhood, so I never completed it, but everyone I know who is an old-school adventure fan keeps raving about it. Would I still enjoy it now, assuming no technical issues? And what's the difference between Myst and realMyst?
