Should you buy this game? there is no singular answer to this question.
When you were playing (if you ever played) Gears of War 4, you probably thought: "This doesn't feel like a typical GoW campaign! (except Judgment)". But now this statement is more suitable for this game. For now there is less spirit of old GoW. You know, a lot of jokes, testosterone characters, depressing ambience, and a lot of cruelty. Instead, we have little more lore and much better artdesign.

Yes, this game has self-repetition, like the in each title of GoW series (you see environment story told through momentarily frozen human bodies again, you fight with berserker again, you use hammer of dawn again etc.). But story tells you more about Pendulum wars, you will know more about UIR, about human relations. Yes, this story still isn't as good as GoW2 but my opinion, better than other campaigns. Most improved aspect are the locations, all of them are awesome, gigantic, diverse and beautiful.

Game mechanics have not changed, shooting is still the best of the best, good leveldesign (And I mean good! Not like in the 1-st act of GoW4) and slightly remapped controls. Microtransactions... have changed, some of the skins are hidden (so you won't know they even exist) until you obtain them, and you can't craft them. In-game market has no lootboxes, only credits, and finally you can buy animations, markers and 'bloodpictures"(sort of blood on the floor after killing enemy) i don't know, if it better or worse. I appreciate new "arcade" matches. "Horde" is easier, but have problems, "Escape"... is fine.
If you are here only for the campaign, it's going to be a good game for you. Still has charm, great shooting and epic moments.

It's nothing. No reason. I am just stupid sh1th3ad m0tha♥♥♥♥3r, who has lowspec PC with old i7 and ancient 1060, I understand.
I like Gears of War multiplayer. Of course, you can see it, because I have played it for ~100 hours. Campaign has only 10-15 hours of gameplay (it has disconnects from your teammates in co-op, bugs, desynchronization... OK, OK, we all don't have normal PCs, only pieces of junk). And what I saw in multiplayer... kicks from server, connection errors, critical errors 502, 503, 504, a videocard driver shutdown and slightly more: like full Windows freeze. I understand, it's my problem, alright.
The only thing I really want to say: "Horde" (PvE defence mode versus 50 waves of enemies, around 1 hour per match). Yeah, awful lobby system (timer always buggy and starts automatically, sometimes game starts with only 2 players and people can't join during the game), awful character system (personal skills and no dublicates in the match). I started around 30-40 games, but finished only 4 (And no, I played "Horde" before, in GoW3 and GoW4. In Gears 5 you can easily finish all 50 waves solo. Yep it possibly, especially for Jack or Del) and more interestingly, 3 of them I have finished solo. Why? Because everyone else was kicked off from the game. And yes, sometimes they just leave the game, but often it is definetly a kick. Because some player shot the first enemy, shot the second, then starts running to the third... PUFF, hello Carmine-bot. Same thing all time. But of course, all of them have potato-pc. Because you now what? There is no normal PC for Gears 5.
There are not a single reason for negative reaction, as with other microsoft games, such as Forza Horizon 3 (Sh1tty start with TONNS of bugs, and bad optimisation), Forza Motorspots 6 (Same) and a couple others. 10/10
