Early Access Review
I very rarely write a review for games so you know that this one is good. This game can be easily picked up but is so hard to put down for the following notable reasons.

For a game in its early access stage, the devs have made a game that is of a high level of detail and quality. The open-world interactions with elements within the environment, the engagement with pedestrians and drivers and the reputation system are much better than games of a similar calibre. I find that having the reputation and credits system provides a level of difficulty unmatched in similar games or mods as the responsibility you have to the law must be upheld to the strictest level. You cannot run red lights without a reason, pull over a car for an unjust cause or search a ped without reasonable suspicion. This reaffirms that this is a simulator and not a soft/causal game.

I find that the most immersive part of this game is the vehicular gameplay and they have done it well so far. You must obey traffic rules otherwise damage to your car, to other cars, people or state property will result in penalties. You must follow the speed limits at all times as you will get punished or going over. This means that you sometimes may have to call off a pursuit even when you want to catch the suspect - realistic right? This game is truly one that reinforces the notion of 'lead by example' that is the pinnacle of modern policing.

Having great controller support for most functions of the Crown Vic (except the blinkers) means that you have full control of the vehicle while not feeling disadvantaged by the lack of buttons. The transition from car to foot chase is seamless meaning that you do not have to fumble around while the perp gets away. Therefore, I would recommend that you use a controller with this game, especially when you are driving.

Pros:
The Law - Reputation system that keeps officers accountable to their constituents.
The Open World - Immersive interactions with the people, vehicles and the environment.
Events - Dynamic incidents/call outs can happen at any time making every patrol different.
Career - Career progression system that makes time spent towards your reputation worth it.
Controllers - Full controller support for vehicle-based and general patrols.
Replayability - Variety of options for each patrol meaning that you are not limited to what the game dictates
Development - Developers are transparent with what they hope to achieve in the future. Seem to be updating the game frequently.
Modding - The solid base of the game means that the modding community will be rife in the future.

Cons:
Early game - The early parts of the game are a grind (especially if you are used to other open-world police simulators)
Vehicles- The blip system doesn't work properly
Shifts - You are punished for being involved in an incident when the end of the shift rolls over.
Callouts - Traffic can build-up meaning that emergency / towing vehicles cannot get to crashes
Walking / Sprinting - Only toggle is available right now when you press shift.
Police chases are still quite buggy - The taser is the only way to apprehend the suspect
Pedestrian interactions - The dismiss ped function sometimes doesn't work or the ped just walks off, suspects disengage from the chase midpursuit, act like nothing ever happened and go on their phone - I assume to check their Tweets?

Overall, while this game is still in early access, it has a world of potential. The fact that within a week of being released, the devs have pushed a patch and quite a big update means that they are committed to the game. At this good price, fans of LSPDFR, LCPDFR, Flashing Lights or other police simulators will love this game. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is sitting on the fence. Five Stars from me!!!

While I enjoyed the game once, in recent times, the addition of anti modding policies, inflation of gta online asset prices, the time spent earning money vs buying shark cards and the fact that a mate was banned without any consideration for appeal leads me to believe that the developers are no longer acting in the best interests for their players. They would much rather lock assets behind a paywall. Every new update includes new assets which aren't attainable from just grinding alone.
