This is very obviously a FREE demo with slightly different content, that also ties into a promotional piece for the Expendables.
It lets people who haven't tried Broforce take a look at the mechanics. Yes, they were very obviously paid by "Lionsgate and Millennium Films", but it is a completely free game with no microtransactions or anything (unlike many movie tie-in deals), and they are an indie developer that's made a great game and deserves additional funding, and hell, the movie and game fit perfectly considering Broforce was entirely about many characters from action movies and games.
...did i mention it's free?
