This is actually a demo for an upcoming game known as Kero Blaster. Pink Hour stars one of the side characters where you have to retrieve a document and give it to the president of some company you work for. It's a very simple and cute story and the pixel art I would describe as the same. The game itself is very simple as you can finish it under 10 minutes but when you unlock hard mode that is when the game becomes more interesting.

I don't know how the full game is actually gonna be as I write this but I can tell you this demo definitely deserves a look if you're interested at all. It's a fun and free 2D platformer and you can't go wrong with that. And it's very cute so that's a plus for me. ^_^ I give it a 7/10

I never was much of a fan of fighting games but I sorta wanted to try and get into some after a bit of mucking around with Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice Gods Among Us. A friend suggested Skullgirls for a beginner and I have to say I can't thank him enough for it. This is a rather well made game.

Skullgirls is a 2D fighting game about a bunch of fighters and quirky people trying to defeat the Skullgirl to obtain the Skull Heart for various reasons such as being granted a wish or destroying the Skull Heart and so on. As for the story it's more split up into "What if" scenarios with different outcomes from each character. I have to say each story is either depressing or down right... "WTF?" I could say shocking but it wouldn't really catch the feeling of some of these actions in the mini campaigns as the story is a complete contrast to the style and cheeky attitude of the characters and the scenery. Skullgirls also contains an arcade mode, single bot match, a versus mode which you'll play online a couple of times then turn off the game and cry and a really good tutorial section which was of great help to me.

If you play this you're gonna probably wind up with a favourite character or two, mine are Ms. Fortune and Peacock as they're just hilarious plus I enjoy Ms. Fortune's fighting style of fast and agile. It's similar to how Awesomenauts has very distinct characters that are very memorable. The character roster is much smaller being an indie fighting game but the animations, fighting and scenery is fluid, fast responsive and just great to play. Again I don't play these types of games much so I can't really go down into combos and such but let the online mode be an example of the feeling of crushing defeat.

The game contains alot of fanservice and it may turn off some people from getting this game, I say look past it and this is a superb fighting game made by a small team of developers that from what I heard struggled to achieve support for this game. You can get this game on sale for quite cheap. DLC is worth getting only if you're invested in the game, that and the free DLC. Fluid animations, good combat and fun music and presentation makes this game definitely worth getting. I give it 8/10.

Call of Duty 2 is one of the finest and most cinematic World War II first person shooters out there. It is probably one of the best games to play if you want a cinematic experience out of a WWII shooter. I originally played this on Xbox 360 several times so there may be a form of biasness so be warned.

The game features the same three campaigns playing as three soldiers from the Russian, British and American armies and a British Tank Commander as well. Each campaign offers a good amount in variety in locale as the majority of each campaign is set in a different nation. The Russian campaign was by far the best as it had a good balance between making you immersed in the game as well as having a great amount of variety in gameplay objectives. The American and British campaigns are still pretty fun and the American campaign in particular has the best starting level on the beach landings of Normandy. There is actually a small form of humor in a cheesy way which I like compared to the more modern games which try to be outgoing but coming accross as more awkward. Russians have their dark humor, British with their dry wit and the Americans with their more silly banntering makes the game feel more at home with an old war movie.

Visually it still holds up for the most part. Nothing looks terrible but nothing looks great either. It gets the job done. Combat is fun giving you a nice variety of WWII weaponry. One problem I had was that out of maybe the 6-8 weapons each nation has, only 3 of them are properly given to you so if you want to play with the more interesting guns you're gonna have to wait for one of the AI soldiers to die and hope you have enough ammo for it. The health bar has been removed with regenerating health which I'm a little mixed on. I don't mind either but I think I probably lean towards health bars as personal preference goes. Music is nice but since there is much more action happening at the one time it's either more absent or you're not going to hear it as much. One thing I didn't like is the checkpoint system. Manual saving is always going to be superior no matter what. I don't like replaying 5-10 minute sections all over again because I did one thing wrong. Still this game usually does it in a more tolerable fashion so it's not as bad. I was unfortunately unable to play the multiplayer which was again like the last two Call of Duty games a little dissapointing if understandable.

Call of Duty 2 is probably the pinacle of WWII shooters. It was also the Call of Duty title I believe that got its full identity and the franchise having its own personality rather than being inspired with the Medal of Honor series. This is one of the most cinematic WWII games you can find (maybe Call of Duty 3 but I haven't played it for a long time so I might have to check that out again). It has good variety in missions, gameplay and locations. I give it an 8/10.

Call of Duty? Expansion? Impossible! Oh but it is and it was the only expansion ever made to date. Developed by Grey Matter Studios, Call of Duty United Offensive is an expansion to the original Call of Duty. It contains a new campaign split up into three smaller campaigns where you fight as a British, American and Russian soldier during battles spanning across World War II.

As an expansion it's pretty good. You got new locations and battles to fight in, some new weapons, and some tweaked gameplay. I forgot to mention how in the original Call of Duty the MG42 was quite hard to shoot at because the muzzle flash blocked out nearly the entire screen however they tweaked it making it much more useful to use in United Offensive. The best levels tended to be the starting and/or second levels of each smaller campaign. The American, British and Russian campaigns had really good starting levels however the last levels of the American and Russian campaign were quite annoying as you had to defend a specific location until help arrives and it was annoying getting shot at all sides.

I can't really say much more. It's more Call of Duty and has a decent campaign, sadly I still couldn't find a game in the multiplayer which was kind of dissapointing. If you're going to play the original Call of Duty then most likely you should pick this up as well in one of the bundles when it goes on sale. It's worth a look if you're looking to play more classic Call of Duty and it should keep you fairly entertained. I give this game a 7/10.

Before Call of Duty became a joke trying to make you feel like a bad*ss with each modern/near future title, Call of Duty was a down to earth title set during World War II where you play as one of three soldiers in the American, British and Russian armies. Developed by Infinity Ward (members that left 2015 Inc. to form their own studio after the development of Medal of Honor Allied Assault) this is their vision of war.

This game took heavy inspiration from the developer's previous title (Medal of Honor Allied Assault) and so some elements may seem similar if you played their previous title you'll see some similarities such as standard health and the classic espionage mission that was in a lot of WWII games at the time. However this game contained three shorter campaigns with different soldiers in different armies and it's quite cool fighting in France, Russia, Germany etc. Graphically it won't wow you but there are some really good set pieces with the Russian campaign being the best as it was quite brutal going out into battle without a weapon. Music is nice and gameplay wise it's great. I was playing Black Ops II alongside it and my favourite thing about the earlier Call of Duty titles and FPS games in general was that you could usually go at your own pace. No waiting for characters to talk your ear off for half the game. Maybe a sentence or two then off you go! The game is linear but gives you a long enough leash that it doesn't fully hold you back compared to the more mordern titles. Shooting is fun and responsive, you have some good weapon variety and you feel like a soldier just trying to survive and do his duty... THE CALL OF DUTY! :P

As a WWII shooter it's fun, the only problems I have is that it's a little short and I wasn't able to find a game in the multiplayer. This game at most goes on sale for 50% off so don't expect a great deal. Is it worth playing? Depends if you like WWII shooters and if you don't mind a short but fun campaign. If you do get it I'm sure you'll have a good time with it. I give this game 7.5/10

A great introduction to the Warhammer 40k universe. If you're like me you stumbled upon this by friends that either played the tabletop game, were into the lore or played this. As an RTS it is quite an entertaining one to play as you have your campagin of course which is really good as you play as a Space Marine chapter known as the Blood Ravens. It's even got a decent story to go with it since it takes place on a slowly chaotic planet filled with Orks, Eldar and Chaos Space Marines. I sort of wished the campaign was a little more varied in how you only play as Space Marines but it's still a rather competent campaign at that.

The game has lots of units to play as and often the game is territorial based meaning that you you have to keep moving and taking over relics and strategic points to get the resources you need to win the battle. It's a pretty good incentive instead of the usual building a huge army and steamrolling everything (not that steamrolling is fun but) it's refreshing to see a change in the RTS formula. When you're done with your campaign you have your skirmish modes where you play against the AI with four factions to choose from (Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Eldar and Orks) and online mode where you play with friends and randoms which is quite nice and fun to play. Lastly you have your army painter which let's you customize your faction's armor and logo colour. It's cool but a little limited though not a lot of RTS games lets you do that.

Good campaign, fun skirmishes and online play makes Dawn of War a worthy RTS to have in your collection. It's over 10 years old and as a recent newbie to the series it is still rather fun to pick up and play. I give it an 8/10.

That's it! I refuse to play anymore of this game. I consider the NES levels to be the last level since Pixel got his cake and partied. I don't care about doing the other levels anymore. They're crap, the later levels are just terrible.

Okay I should just explain what this game is. Life of Pixel is game where a Pixel gets tired of being one in millions of pixels on a TV screen so he takes a trip to a museum where he travels through levels of older computing systems and consoles from the late 70s to the early 90s. Sounds cute. So each level is aesthetically designed to look like their appropriate console and computer which is kind of nice, the chiptune music is good as well, the gameboy one in particualr is my favourite. I'll give a comment when I can.

Each level you have to collect every diamond or gem or whatever to open the door to the next stage? Sounds simple enough. But no some levels are just bad. They take forever to finish with no checkpoints. There is a lot of trial and error in these levels as you will accidently land on one hit kill spikes and get hit by enemies. The enemies themselves are annoying. In particuar they are the flying ones and the ones that just move left to right on a platform. The reason they're crap is that they have no sense of direction or pattern. They might just hover on top of a vital spot you need to go to or maybe you're behind them just shifting along trying to get that one little diamond they seem to cover but then all of a sudden at complete random they might turn around without any notice. They did not reach the end of their platform, they just turned around. It get's really frustrating. On another note if you're one to hate bats or one hit kill spikes then STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME. This game is the king of spikes. I will update this if I am ever to find a leginimate game with more spikes than Life of Pixel. Maybe this game is supposed to be unfair considering one of the levels is literally called "Leaps of Faith" for crying out loud!

I was going in hoping that this might replace my lost love that is Pix'n Love Rush. I sort of knew it wouldn't but this game just eventually breaks you down and make you go numb. This is probably the most I've ever said "Oh F*CK" in a game ever. The idea is cute but the level design is crap, it offers either loads of one hit kill spikes, a tonne on bad enemy placements or just dozens of goddanm diamonds to collect. If you're still interested in it go ahead. Maybe there is something that I cannot see that you find appealing but I didn't like it. I'd say try and get Pix'n Love Rush instead on PSP if you can. It's also on Android and iOS but I didn't like the controls.

Life of Pixel gets a 4/10 It looks nice but the level design can be horrid with lots of one hit kills and long slogging platforming along with horrid enemy placement, leaps of faith and first time traps. Oh and spikes. Never ever ever forget about the spikes...

I remember buying this awhile ago together with a friend. We were both interested and I went ahead playing it and he asked me to tell him how it was when I finished it. I suppose this review is for you my friend. :)

Now Shantae: Risky's Revenge was my first time ever playing from the series and I knew next to nothing about the game's story. Only the development history. I found the story to be a bit interesting but not a whole lot. The dialogue and the characters however are pretty funny, often making fourth wall jokes and jabbing at one or two video game tropes which I like. It's not the story itself you'll get invested in it's most likely the characters and their interactions you'll enjoy.

Visually I'm a bit stumped. It uses pixel art and it's rather well detailed. This is some danm fine pixel art here. The odd problem I have though is that (and this is probably going to sound like the dumbest thing I've ever said) the colour palette is too strong for my taste. It's really bright and fruity and I don't exactly find that personally appealing though this is more of a personal matter. I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy the look of it. I did but just not entirely. In terms of music it's alright but I've got nothing much to say about it. It's a little on the bland side.

Gameplay wise it's good, it's a metroidvania game so a lot of upgrades, secrets, puzzles and backtracking which I didn't mind too much. Combat is simple and you can use abilities to help you fight but you'll most often then not just keep hitting enemies with Shantae's ridiculously agile hair. The game is actually in 2.5D which is really cool. Even though it's 2D there are muliple layers in an area to explore for goodies. Boss battles range from fun to "how long is she going to take to die?"

I liked Shantae: Risky's Revenge but I didn't really love it or anything. It was a nice trip to ride and it offered a good game to play. Shantae is really cool to play as and her friends and enemies are a really cool bunch to listen to. I don't think I'm planning to get The Pirate's Curse anytime soon or the original for that matter but I'll keep an eye on Half Genie Hero and see how that's going. Risky's Revenge didn't make me a fan but I am interested in the series if you can get my idea (hope so because I don't). This game get's a nice 7/10.

Fun game to go with a fun movie. Kung Fury: Street Rage is a simple game. Just hit enemies left and right to get points. It's quite fine and simple. From what I hear it's a simplified version of One Finger Death Punch but I've never played that though considering how this was quite fun I might have to pick up a copy.

I can't really say too much about it. If you see the trailer that is what you're getting. It's an entertaining arcade game to play when you want to relax, nice graphics, music and easy to get into. You should try it out, it gets 7/10.

Probably the best thing I've ever watched EVER! It's so stupid happy delicious it'll make you both cringe and smile the whole way through.

Just go watch it. It will either amaze you of just make your entire face go numb or both! I don't usually recommend movies on Steam but this one is a must watch!
