One of my favourite games, even over 20 years later.

I think the original art and sound still hold up, the pixel graphics are full of character and the lo-fi soundtrack is rich and warm. There are areas in the game where I could just sit and watch the screen while listening to the background music.

That is an area where the game excels, creating atmosphere. The combination of excellent art design/direction and an amazing soundtrack just worked to produce a classic game.

It also helps that, due to the realistic setting, the puzzles make sense. I mean you won't be trying to fill a vial with mouse blood by using dentures stolen from a sleeping vampire, which is an actual puzzle in another game.


It is a short game, I must admit that. Knowing all the puzzle solutions I managed to play through it in just over 3 hours.

But they were a good 3 hours.
