Get it on sale and keep an open mind, it's kinda fun sometimes. NG+ is just starting the grind over so don't bother. First playthrough's ok, but all the criticism about emptiness and blandness is earned.

Bethesda makes modding frameworks that pass for games. Skyrim and Fallout 4 at least had something of their own that was playable on their own... This one is nothing without mods at all. It's sad because combat is actually a lot of fun and the gunplay is super satisfying compared to Fallout 4. There's not much to shoot at though, most hostile locations have like 10 dudes total with one or two notable exceptions.
