What used to be an intuitive and easy to read system became much more complicated because of "performance issues" that I had yet to experience in all my hours of game play.

The old system that relied on a simple Pops per housing and jobs changed into a workforce system. Sadly that system needed more work before being implemented. What used to create a few jobs for a number of pops on a planet now creates a bunch of jobs that you might not have enough pops to fill. In my last game, on every planet I had over 1K free jobs, and most of them were basic jobs because for some reason, Rulers and Specialist get priority. You end up on a new colony with unemployed rulers and specialists, and in some case, your advanced planet only fills those jobs, leaving your basic production at 0.

While managing the old system may have taken time in the later stages of the game, you had ABSOLUTE control of what was produced and where you wanted things. Now, certain buildings are locked behind the different districts and their sub types. What if I want a full alloy production world? Or I need a quick way to make amenities but the slot is taken by something as important? Locking buildings behind a specific district, while very nice in theory and logically makes sense, is in practice a huge step back in player freedom.

I played with a few friends, and while some don't really mind it (they were the ones playing explorers on a co-op game), those who actually manage stuff all said something similar; I liked it better before.

Hopefully Paradox will roll back on this system for a while, at least until they patch it or rework it.

Game is great fun, a challenge to face alone or with friends. Really gives off a feel of Starship Troopers, Halo ODST and some hints of Warhammer 40K. There may be other inspirations and cosmetic similarities, but these are the big ones I spotted.
The fact that you can see the global progress makes you feel like you are part of something bigger. There are some bugs (no not the Terminids) that will be ironed out as they work on it, but a solid launch from a studio I had never heard of before. Hope they bring it to Xbox so we as gamers can all serve Super Earth, united at last.

So far the shop isn't pushing overpowered gear (that I saw)

Physics are a bit wonky but it's a great time overall.

Cities: Skyline is a great sandbox game made by Paradox Interactive. You can be sure to get your money's worth when it's made by them.
Sure there are DLC's but they are entirely optional. Most of them focus and expand on a specific thing that is either already in the game, like more airports or a new industry.
If you have an itch to manage your own little town and gradually expand into a large city, what are you waiting for?

While the game itself is great, this is not the Yu-Gi-Oh! experience I was looking forward to.
This is yet again a card gatcha like Duel Link. There is nothing wrong with people liking these kind of games where the predatory pay to win to quickly get the best deck possible are present day one, and where some cards are locked in packs that cannot be purchased without unlocking secret packs.
The problem I have is that I expected something more from Konami. I expected something along the lines of Dueling Nexus, or even Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist without the single player, where you get points for packs by playing the game, and not by completing challenges.

But hey, what do you expect from free to play games. I only hope they release an actual paid game where you can play a story, make your own deck by unlocking cards as you play, but keep updating it for more that a few years, like developpers that actually like their community do.

While the game concept itself looks fine, the execution is very poor. I played a few battles against AI that used machines similar to those I had access to. So far it was good.
Then came my first match with players. They ALL had better machines and weapons. I couldn't even hope to dent their HP bar while mine melted from a single hit.
There is 0, ZERO balance or matchmaking to prevent this. Absolutely horrible experience. The game was made for you to sink money into, as with most mobile games.

At first, I was not a fan of of the grinding you have to do to get better gear and armor, but as i got better and learned new mechanics, I started to enjoy each fight more and more. While the monsters have patterns, each fight can differ with each areas you explore. Traps, ledges and fauna can be exploited in almost every area.
I really loved the collecting aspect of things, trying to get the largest and smallest endemic life of each species, filling up your stash with rare or precious materials, discovering hidden passages and befriending native Grimalkyne in between fight was a great way to rest up and prepare yourself for a new challenge.


If you have the Iceborne DLC, you unlock a new weapon tree and a special armor. They are greatly superior compared to any other piece of the same tier. Equiping them will make the game feel like a breeze and propel you to the high rank and master rank very quickly, but you will not learn to dodge and block properly, leaving you ill prepared when a real challenge shows up. I personally recommend working your way up slowly to avoid getting frustrated when a monster is tougher and ends your hunt multiple times.


Online play is great and can save a doomed hunt sometimes. I had my fair share of hunts where I was on my last life and a better hunter showed up to help me out. You have to remember to shoot your S.O.S. flare, but shooting it right away isn't always the best Idea. If you stay with only one other hunter, your furry friend will stay with you, but as soon as more join, you loose that support.

When playing with others, remember where you should be and be mindful of others as you can trip them with your hits, and they can do the same to you.
