Better graphics and better movement, as well as a much needed improvement from Stealth to loud when things go wrong in a heist.
Unfortunately, this came at the cost of making the game online-only for some reason. In addition the game just... lacks the charm of it's predecessor. The UI feels boring and lifeless, the skill progression system is honestly not great, the weapons are just overall bad feeling and lack impact.
Maybe one day it'll live up to PayDay 2, but for now, it feels like a poorly done PayDay themed Call of Duty mod.

Pros: Is honestly a great game.
Cons: The reason I'm not recommending it right now is because it's filled with bugs. If you don't mind reloading saves and dealing with a horrible launcher, go for it. Oh, and forget playing Ironman unless you want to run into a game breaking bug and have to restart a whole mission or whole run over from the beginning everytime.

This game is a glitchy mess. Good for memes. Bad for immersion. Overall, hilarious. Your mileage may vary.

A Red Reveiw of: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
-Positives:
-It's fantastic overall, especially gameplay. If one is a fan of turn based strategy combat that keeps one alert at all times, this game is a perfect match.
-Varied soldier classes, enemy types, and base building are well thought out and executed.
- XCOM is a series known for its difficulty. There's no shame in reloading saves when trying to learn how the game functions as a whole (people can uncheck the Ironman mode, the mode that prevents save reloading, off for a reason).

-Meh:
-As for its story, it's not bad by any means, but it's certainly not the game's primary focus to impress cinimatic wise. It's there to provide an explination of the goal and how to get there, and that's about it.

-Negatives (kind of):
-The game isn't without its flaws. The game can sometime bug out, causing wierd errors, especially when the aliens go flying and go into ragdoll mode, sometimes making the bodies get stuck in walls (though it is pretty fun to watch).
-Alot of complaints from the game stem from its difficulty, but the primary focus of the game is to be challenging (unless on Rookie difficulty, and even then bad stuff can happen to one's soldiers if not careful). Higher difficulty and overall challenge isn't every person's cup of tea, but to those who don't mind it, this really isn't a negative at all.
-Alot of the best soldier customization options (and by that I mean all of them) are a part of the dlc expansions. And while the dlc expansions for the game are great (specifically Enemy Within) it would've been nice to have more soldier customization options in the base game.

-Overall:
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is wonderful turn-based strategy rpg with a good amount of challenge behind it. The expansions further expand on what the game does well, but the base is amazing by itself.
The overall rating: Amazing
And remember: Missed a shot with a 99% chance to hit? "That's XCOM, baby."
