In the first one if I beat a level and still had some lives left i would just suicide til i got game over and then try the new level.
Game overs are meaningless (on normal mode) if you arent going for achievements, despite everyone you know dying and feeling bad about yourself.
And i think you had ten more lives in the first game?
This did seem a little easier than the first, especially the bosses, but i still busted out a turbo pad for the last boss and got pretty pissed on a few levels. So dont think this is for casuals, just a bit less of an asshole of a game.
