Going to get right into it with Trepang2 is AWESOME. They say what they mean when they put 'You are a supersoldier.' You feel like it. Being able to turn invisible, slow down time, dual wield weapons (at some point) and kill countless enemies. Graphically, game is really good looking. The guns feel weighty and meaty when they hit someone, especially the shotgun. Using your powers to get that nice edge on the enemy, great! If you want a game where you are running around, blowing people's heads off, killing them left and right, this game is perfect....HOWEVER.
The game is rather short. I did kind of blitz through the game, running it on easy and collecting stuff as I went along and found it. It took me about six hours to complete, probably if you are on a much harder difficulty, it will take longer of course. Weapon variety is here and there, but nothing really stands out. You have your pistol, rifle, smg, shotgun, then a grenade launcher, some kind of bolt launcher and a 'minigun.' I use that in quotes because it isn't the kind of minigun we think of, like a giant honking behemoth of a weapon like in Call of Duty, but they do try to give you some upgrades you can find in the levels for these guns. Things like incendiary shotgun shells, suppressors, etc. to try and give you something new. Enemy variety is kind of on the lower end. Most of the enemies you fight are standard troops that use rifles, shields, pistols and smgs. You have juggernauts that tank bullets and use heavy hitting gear like the shotgun or minigun, but there are really only a few times when you have some other worldly enemies. Like one mission has kind of these zombie types of enemies, but they are really only there for that one mission then never seen again. Another has a threat that is blind and can't see you, but I really only found it in that one section. There are bosses and they can be pretty cool, but they are kind of far and few in between. The story, while cool at first, being a super soldier and all, kind of falls flat in the end. Not going to spoil it, for people who do want to play it, but I just want to warn that it kind of falls a bit flat in the end. Not terrible, just a bit flat.
Tl;dr it's a good game and can have really awesome points like dual wielding shotguns or using some poor soldier's body as a human shield and throwing them with a grenade active. You can get a lot of really cool unlockables to like some datapads that give you a bit more lore and reports, some customization, but it isn't anything ground breaking (Changing your glove color and such, but not face or anything), you have some combat simulation missions, some side objectives with some cool things happening there, even unlocking cheats for fun times in the game. Overall, if you want a game where you just want to feel like a super soldier, killing poor soldiers while they die in droves, this game is awesome and worth a buy. If you are on the fence because the story does fall a bit flat, wait for a sale, but I fully believe 30 dollars for this (USD) is a good price for this.
