So let me open up with a warning, I had a fair amount of rendering trouble when starting out playing this game, the terrain would load but the objects on the map wouldn't, and the person I was playing with had a few other issues, one persistent one is their red dot sight showed nothing but a solid checkerboard pattern... overall performance wise this game is in a kind of rough state BUT some kind folks on the internet have found solutions for these temporary issues

Now with that out of the way, for a pre-alpha game this is a VERY well made game in my opinion, it needs performance tweaks but the guns feel good, the (only) maps layout is nice, over all I can see the devs are passionate about this project, I did two successful runs after quitting out a few times to try and solve some problems, resetting my inventory (Thank you devs for giving that option) cause I lost most of my stuff due to said quitting, but after all that, I got it to work, and had a pretty good time, it's got some bugs and a lot of little problems that stack up all together to make a kind of overwhelmingly buggy experience until you go on the internet for a solution, now the devs have also been kind enough to leave the console accessible so you can make any changes you need if you know what it does, I used mine to completely disable anti-aliasing and that helped me a ton, over all I DO recommend this game BUT and this is a very important but, be prepared for some serious issues you're gonna have to look on google or the steam discussions to find solutions for, but over all, a pretty good game for a pre-alpha release, I can't wait to see it grow

It's a short first chapter but it's wonderfully made, the amount of polish and good ideas really shows, I can't wait to see how UniqueGeese continues this story

Yet another re-write of my review! The game is in a very good place right now, with a new warbond on the way this coming Thursday (and from what it seems every second thursday of a month), Sony has backed off of making the account linking mandatory and it leaving it as an optional choice, Helldivers 2's community managed to do something that hasn't been done in a while, we forced a big game company to hear our complaints and gripes, and make a change for the better, it gives me a lot of hope for the future of gaming. I once again highly recommend this game, especially with friends, it's the only game I can say feels like how an E3 demo looked

So I wanna keep this brief, the gameplay is great, I've had a server issue here or there, and it's agitating but I've had long periods of absolutely no issues if I had to put it into a ratio I'd say about 6 or so of my current 7.5 hours have been uninterrupted by bugs, it has new bugs that somehow didn't ever show up on the network test, and that is VERY strange to me, I can only assume this is because of the updated application data, but either way the issues are bound to be squashed with how much maintenance they've been doing since launch, just show them a bit of patience and give them time to hear about everything and look to fix it, it's still one of the better f2p games I've played as of late and I despite it's current issues confidently recommend this game

UPDATE: There are a few new connectivity issues that have been popping up, causing a friend of mine to have a 4 day penalty because the game considered this a match disconnect despite it being a server issue, if you have this issue go to Bandai's support site and report it so they can see it's an issue

I've seen some complaints about the story and stuff with Lightfall, and It made me want to give my thoughts on D2 as a whole, I wanna say after playing the game since Destiny 1's original Beta test, I still thoroughly enjoy this game, it has it's ups and downs, and the DLC prices can make it hard to pick up sometimes unless you catch a sale, but the gameplay is well designed and fun, the completely F2P content they offer is pretty fun it includes two classic Destiny 1 raids and a dungeon, not to mention being able to explore any planet even if you don't own the associated DLC, and the story that they release every season, even if you can't play it is good, I haven't been able to buy every season but I keep up with it and enjoy the writing as well, most exotics are obtainable without owning the DLC they come from, it's just random chance, It's by no means a perfect game, but it's a fun one especially with friends and I recommend giving it a try for yourself it is F2P anyway, all you have to lose is some time

As of this review I'm level 7 veteran and have 5.5 hours, honestly it's a fun game, I enjoy the dialogue and sound design, the gameplay is just what you'd expect from looking at the game, and the game runs smoothly if you CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS, which a lot of people from what I can see don't mess with, or they play the game without checking the minimum requirements, if you like L4D and you like 40k, and ESPECIALLY if you like playing as something aside from space marines for a change, I recommend this game for certain, it's not 100% perfect as it stands but it's a solid game

If you're expecting this game to be on the same level as MW 2019 it's a BIT different, gameplay is solid and I enjoy it, I find the current Co-op options to be lacking a bit compared to 2019's extremely fun Spec-ops but that could change in time, the campaign is fun, it's a more "tactical" approach so it takes itself a little slower than the original MW2 did, it IS a COD story though so don't expect it to be a super groundbreaking, but the levels are well thought out and fun.... although if you play on Hardened or higher... check your corners, and use your flashbangs... I still remember the shotgunners with armor

Alright so, I'll keep my review short, the launcher was a bad play, they should look into integrating the game more heavily into steam, I changed my graphics and IDK if the settings weren't updating or what but I couldn't stay above 20 fps, the gameplay is solid though, I like the look and feel of the game but I can't recommend the game in confidence with my current experience, I can say the game itself is decent but it needs some work before I can say this is worth downloading, by no means am I saying the game itself is bad, because it IS fun, it's just a frustrating process to get started

At the time of writing this the game has only been out about a day, it has some bugs to iron out including a crash problem I've had once so far, but gameplay wise it's a pretty good game, I enjoy it far more than I ever did Overwatch



EDIT: I should add unlocking new units as a F2P is pretty rough, it costs 1,980 capital (F2P Currency) to unlock a unit, but you only can earn so much every few days so far along with the occasional 1,000 capital rewards via the free battle pass, you get the most consistent gain every few days through the beginner challenges, but if you spend $40 USD you get all the locked units available right now plus a bunch of legendary skins and a charm, it feels kinda slow and grindy if you only look at trying to unlock new characters, I would still recommend this game to someone if they asked me about it BUT it needs some more consistent means of progressing as a F2P

It's great for being social, but it relies so much on mods to make it playable right now and avoid crashes that their plans to add EAC TOMORROW and making mods impossible to use is going to kill the game, I hope the devs pay attention to all this backlash, if they don't this platform isn't gonna last, Subscriptions are being canceled by the second it's not good, PLEASE keep talking about this, try to be heard about this, there are mods for accessibility so deaf people can enjoy themselves that will be unusable if EAC launches, mods that reduce the load on your computer, mods to prevent methods of crashing you from working, DON'T be malicious towards the devs, doxing and threatening won't help, but make sure your voice is heard


If the devs will listen and reconsider I will remove this negative review


EDIT: This review was uploaded in protest to an update that removes accessibility and Quality of Life mods, they however despite their communities outrage have released this update anyway, I will not be changing my review, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME, they don't care about keeping the community happy they only care about stopping mods that add features they should have already had
