I should preface this by saying Antichamber is one of my favourite games of all time, so it's difficult for me not to make comparisons with something as outwardly as similar as Manifold Garden. That being said, these are not similar games, despite what appearances suggest.

The design is art. There is absolutely no other way to encapsulate it; this game is about the incredible splendor provided by a flat textured but exceptionally colourful labyrinthine experience, that will break your brain if you try to take parts of it in all at once. It uses colours in a simple but superbly effective manor, deeply contrasted against the colourless main stage.

The visuals are always changing, constantly presenting new ideas that will perpetually make you say 'wow' out loud. The puzzles however can tend to suffer from the same issue, mechanics are introduced and then barely used to 10% of their potential. Where games like Antichamber take mechanics beyond the scope of what you could imagine possible, Manifold Garden focuses more on the exploration side, with most of my time spent walking around picking up and relocating the pieces required for the solution as opposed to actually solving it.

The soundtrack is exceptional, with just the right amount of ethereal beauty but layered with quiet undertones to make sure they don't wear out. Due to the non-euclidean nature of the game there were times I'd accidentally find the exact point where the music game triggers were set over and over creating a break in the immersion, but these were rare enough they weren't a problem.

Overall, this is truly an experience I would recommend to anyone, and one that will stick with me for a while. The puzzles were incredibly simple and sometimes a bit drawn out, but the main selling point of this game to me is the atmosphere, the design, and the sheer majesty of the visuals. Must have for anyone who likes this genre.
