Plenty of grind, but very, very, very good endgame: lots of different things to do. You can make whole characters focused solely for different parts of the endgame (like the mines) instead of regular endgame (maps). The game is free, although you can and should buy more stash space (currency tab, map tab) at least at some point. You can only buy cosmetic items, so this is not a pay to win game.

The developers are fantastic, they address bugs quickly and take feedback into account very quickly, and answer concerns etc promptly. Perhaps one of the best developers out there?

Developers were unhappy how Diablo 3 turned out, so they created this game instead, taking player feedback continuously into account. Although I like Diablo 3 too, this one has much, much more things to do at the endgame, instead of endless Greater rifts. Some developers were developers of the original Diablo 2.

The game has 10 acts. It is bit of a pain to go through the whole campaign with every character, and sometimes I've missed whole leagues since I don't often feel like running through all the acts just to try different builds. Some know how to level fast though. Also respeccing is somewhat tedious, so it's best to follow a build guide.

For beginners, install a loot filter when starting out. I recommend Neversink or Filterblade (they are basically the same thing , Filterblade is customization on top of Neversink). Also follow a build guide!

Addictive and free to play, what else can you say? Saving game is automatic, but one thing that annoyes me is that if you hit ESC, the game immediately quits. Progress is saved though.
