Removing servers. Leaving players with no way to play with eachother (direct matches, etc). Leaving the game to be dead.

Very disappointed in this entry. I loved Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. However, this game just doesn't feel as good as previous entries. I feel like this game babies you even on max difficulty with the game speed up. The first thing that hit me was the music is not even close to previous entries. It just feels like generic "doom" metal. I am about halfway through with the game and I have only paused for a few moments to think the music was actually good and it always seems muted even though I have everything else lower and the music at max volume.
The exploration of pretty barren levels (even though they look good) really halts any momentum you get through fights and the backtracking makes it annoying. But what really is annoying is the fact that it is required to backtrack and go through more boring pauses of gameplay in order to upgrade weapons. But whats even MORE annoying is that you can potentially miss areas you cannot backtrack to and then you either have to restart from the checkpoint or restart the level all together.
The combat became extremely repetitive after a bit with the parry mechanic becoming boring and easy even though the shield is pretty cool. I understand this is supposed to be "stand and fight!" but I always feel like there are no enemies on the screen and every fight lasts about 3 minutes. The weapons they added are cool but weapon switching feels like it takes forever in this game compared to previous entries and in this entry you can get away with not switching between guns. The giant mech and dragon levels are a cool concept but incredibly boring. I would have rather had just one long level of each and had unique mechanics and a boss for each.
Glory kills are taken out except when doing jump attacks with the shield it seems but even then they don't always trigger.

On the hardest difficulty, sped up, the gameplay still feels slow and not challenging.

It feels like they took a huge step back with this title and for the price increase, it is definitely not worth it. Genuinely sad to see the series has come to this installment with how great Doom 2016 and Eternal were.

EDIT: Speed ran the rest of the game so I could at least finish it. THE most underwhelming final boss fights out of any of the new DOOMs and its not even close. I had to sit in silence wondering how they could make something that boring.

Horrible optimization at the launch of the game.

Hate how this is just the norm now and I would expect better since the company reached over 1 million concurrent players on steam alone. Definitely have enough resources to not have the game run horribly on launch.

The WORST thing so far is the party system. WHY is it harder to navigate and participate in than in Rise? Like why can we not just:
- Invite friend
- They are now in the lobby
- Post quest
- Everyone joins and starts
????
My friends and I literally cannot find any accurate information on how to do story quests together because the game doesn't even tell you and there is literally a different explanation on every single thread of hundreds of people ALSO asking the same question. $70 dollar game that I am having to STUDY and test how to play main story missions with friends instead of just invite, post quest, and go. Absolutely shameful. Fix this garbage system.

There is no direction to the levels. Controls feel clunky. Game is buggy asf. 4 player maximum or use mods and hope everything works fine the first time around. We wanted to try this one since we played Backrooms: Escape together and THIS one game out before. This one has way more levels but its just slop. Just get the other one. Its like 2-3 hours total but at least its fun to play.

We have 5 dudes in discord right now struggling to see why this has so many positive reviews or if we just literally had bugs EVERY single level for 2 hours straight.

Compared to other monster hunter games I played. This feels just bad. It feels extremely slow in the sense that your quest progression gets HALTED having to do extremely lame investigations that means you walk around, collecting random stuff slowly and then having to reload into the area to get even more. Then FINALLY get to a hunt and then after that, more lame slowness. Investigations wouldn't be so lame if you had a palamute like from Rise or some equivalent. Some of the quests are extremely boring (everything surrounding the like 15 minute Zorah Magdaros fights where you literally just wait around). The hub area is dumb. Everything is separated so you have to walk about 30 seconds or go through a small cinematic to go to an area if you don't want to walk to it. This is pretty much after every mission if you want to eat or go to the smithy. No reason for the hub area to be so spread out.

Questing with friends is also EXTREMELY stupid. I cannot quest with my friend because they haven't watched a cutscene yet in the mission? So they have to load into the quest, go and FIND the monster, watch the cutscene, then you can start the process of joining. That is IF you have done the quest already. If you are BOTH trying to quest at the same time (as in complete quests at the same time), you need to LOAD INTO THE QUEST SEPARATELY, watch the cutscenes, then ONE of you has to back out to go join your friends ongoing quest..... Why tf can I not just join my friends quest and we can watch cutscenes together??? Can't even skip cutscenes btw without a mod. Rise doesn't have this problem nor any of the other monster hunter games I have played multiplayer with.

The game looks great, the combat feels good, the monsters are sick. Its just everything else surrounding the core of the game is so lame and rips you out of the feeling you get during a sick fight. Most of these gripes are from a progression standpoint, but the point of monster hunter is to progress and get sick gear for fights, not walk around and sniff footprints, watch lame ♥♥♥♥, or some other lame ♥♥♥♥.

One of the greatest games of all time. I got no bugs during my entire almost 70 hour playthrough. The visuals where beautiful. Each location felt unique and filled with things to look for. The world is big and yet it isn't a hassle exploring. The enemies are unique and the bosses are fantastic. Cutscenes are extremely memorable. It was challenging and rewarding (like the other souls games). The gameplay is amazing. This is peak Dark Souls gameplay. The game is just straight 10/10 fun. I am extremely glad I got to play this game as a functional adult on release and experience it as this is one of the games that people will talk about for decades to come.

The game is extremely good. Online works great, fun story, characters play differently and everything feels good. But the monetization of the game is so brutal its insane. Characters cost a ridiculous amount of money. The cheap character passes (30 dollars btw and that is just for ONE pass with 4 characters) don't even contain extra costumes for the DLC characters OR stages, that's additional money! Another character pass just released so another $30 dollars extra for 4 characters. And if we think there is gonna be maybe another 16 characters (super generous with that number btw, most think think the ending roster is gonna be between 40-45, so that would be another 20 - 24 characters), that is another 4 passes adding up to a total of $180 dollars for JUST dlc characters (so you can play all of them), not including additional funds for the costumes and stages. If you did the ultimate pass for each one, then it would be $300 dollars on top of the $60 dollar game..... That is ridiculous and the penny pinching is so insane. Blowing the launch of SFV out of the water and finally delivering an excellent fighting game at launch in years and they ruin it with this.... Paying $180 dollars plus $60 for the base game just to be able to play everyone at bare minimum (being generous with the $180 dollar amount). Or you can wait till the champion edition comes out (estimated 4-5 years later) for whatever bs price they are gonna charge. (the $104 dollar version of the game rn doesn't even include the second season pass or anything onwards, only year 1 stuff LOL). It is embarrassing and a slap in the face to your fans.

Maybe it is because I did alot of side content, but so much of this game is repetitive. I think one of the WORST things ever is the LOADSSSSS of unskippable dialogue / cutscenes. Like you cannot skip ANY dialogue or cutscene. For main story stuff, that is fine I assume, but when you are constantly rescuing hostages, trying to talk to others, etc, it eats up so much time and halts any momentum in gameplay. Even still, just give us the option to, so that people who don't want to skip anything do not have to. The combat isn't extremely complicated, but there are some VERY annoying aspects. The two I found annoying are:
1. The major bug where standoffs just don't work at all. Maybe 20-30% of the entire time. One of the coolest aspects of combat that makes you feel powerful and is rewarding and it never works lmfao.
2. Switching stances IN combat sometimes just doesn't register so I have to spam the buttons to try to get the stance wheel to show up. This is a major deal since halfway into the game, every fight has almost all enemy types fighting you at once and you need to switch stances. This has resulted in what should be a fluid combat experience, grinding to a halt at times.

I think this game suffers from the "playing a movie" genre that games have moved towards, where they want you to play an interactive movie... I just wanna play a game, not sit through mounds of garbage dialogue that is repeated or just flat out boring with no way to skip it, cutscenes that are essentially copy pasta with no way to skip it, etc. The feeling probably wouldn't be this strong if I just blew through the main story, but then you can't get all the cool upgrades and such.

Very saddened by the experience.
