So, I originally played this game back in 2017 and hated it more than anything in the world. I would constantly tell people that if you're going to play all the souls games, play DS2 last, then burn your copy. Flash forward to two weeks ago, and I was browsing social media when I came across a DS2 forum. Someone was complaining about how hard the game was, and how bullsh*t the healing and invicibility frames were. Most were the average get gud comment but a couple people said "Level up your adaptability to at least 24 then play through the game." I thought back on my original playthrough and realized I have NEVER leveled up my adaptability once. This had me thinking about doing another playthough, because I have already beat all 7 soulsborne games and got a Hunter Mark tattoo as tribute to the series and my experience playing the franchise, so what's one more go around? I purchased the game, farmed in Heide's Tower until my adaptability was 24 and played on the normal route. Now, I started playing the souls games when I was 15 back in 2016, so I've been a fan for almost 10 years. And with that, comes maturity as you grow with each game. Is beating Sekiro maturing? Yes. Is beating Elden Ring maturing? Yes. But you wanna know what above all is maturity?

Finding out Dark Souls 2 is a f*****g MASTERPIECE of a game after absolutely dunking on it for years of my life.

I cannot stress to you how phenonemal of a souls game DS2 really is. There's so much breath-taking scenery in the various locations of the game (except for like Black Gulch and ig Grave of Saints), the weapons/combat is insanely well-put together, albeit some frames being janky but hey thats souls for ya, and some of the coolest bosses in the souls line-up. Playing through recently, I forgot how cool Looking Glass Knight's fight actually is. Burnt Ivory King is such a cinematic sick looking fight and inspired some boss entrances down the line(Yes, I know Four Kings from DS1 has the same drop down entrace). The lore is so cool when you read item descriptions, talk to the npcs, I mean I didnt even know Tark or Vengarl existed until this playthrough. The DLC worlds are so sick as they're like extensions of other areas like Brume Tower. The soundtrack. MY GOD THE SOUNDTRACK. Nashandra's theme got me praisin' the lord with that holy choir.

Now, there are still some grips I have with the game but its ALOT less than I had before. My biggest one and most commonly amongst the community is the boss run backs are atrocious, but some aren't bad at all. Lud and Zallen come to mind immediately as a garbage run back. Another for me was how heavy the fall damage is in the game. You could drop from like dresser height and break your f*****g ankles. There are a few others but I'm not trying to write a college paper here.

All in all, I'm glad I came back to DS2. It was like playing a whole new souls game and I'm always down for that. The spark of joy I got from going "Oh I remember that!" and remeniscing back to when I played before has given me a deep sense of nostagia towards DS2 that the others just can't replicate for me. My order of favorites use to be: Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Sekiro, DS3, DS1, DS, then DS2. But now, I can confidently say that DS2 has over thrown the #4 spot and the spot for my favorite souls game specifically. It really feels amazing to now have a series so close to my heart where I can feel that not a single one of the games are bad.

Anyways, I've rambled for long enough. If you ever see it on sale, pick it up. It's definitely a challenge compared to DS1 and DS3(LKSS go brrrrrr), but its a unique one that will stick with you after you look back at the journey you took. I've gone from a Dark Souls 2 hater to a Dark Souls 2 glazer and no game has made me do that before.

I love you, Fromsoft. Never change.

Combat is the only thing savable about this game. Everything else is a slog of terrible optimization, dumb microtransactions, and awful bugs. do NOT waste money on this game until they do the Cyberpunk route and fix it months later.

This game had a funny premise. Almost everyone gets creeped out by spiders and the natural reaction is to kill it. Kill It With Fire made those scenarios even better by giving you a slew of uncommon ways of killing spiders. From RPGs to flamethowers to shurikens, this game has a charming yet funny charm to it and I highly recommend playing it

If I could give this game a higher rating than yes, I absolutely would. Omori is a unique, horror RPG that scratched the itch that I needed in my life for RPGs that aren't just your typical run here and kill big boy get rewards and continue style of gameplay. I don't want to go into the story at all to fully give you a beautiful experience of the enriching, deep, dark and powerful story. If you decide to pick this game up for yourself. The bosses are awesome, the scoring is phenomenal, the battle system is flawless, and I can go on and on. Seriously, try this game. You will not regret your purchase.

I hear people knock this game all the time, complaining that the other two games in the franchise are better. While I do absolutely love Bioshock 1&2, there's something about Infinite that i just love. The story, the guns, the vigors, etc and etc. I can play this game over and over again and never get bored of it. 10/10 no less.
