I was hoping for less science and more science fiction. Also I'm clearly a terrible starship pilot.

This game was amazing! I have never played anything like it before.

The Mask Game is a good (but short) visual novel that manages to be creepy and fun at the same time. Also there is good art and voice acting. Thanks to the developers for making this available for free!

I liked this one, the game starts out in Russian though (at least I think it was Russian) and I had to stumble through the menus a bit to find the option to switch it over to English. I also wish the skip button stopped on unread text, Other than those two minor complaints though this was a fun creepy game with some nice artwork.

Stellar Reflections is a dystopian space Visual Novel with a really good story and neat background art that matches the mood of the story very well. There are three possible endings and holy crap is the bad ending dark I enjoyed all three of them. There aren't a lot of choices in this VN just two, and those choices determine what ending you get.

Thanks to the developer Badger Can Fly for putting this game up on Steam for free. Hopefully there will be more good games from them in the future.

CorpoNation starts out interesting but soon becomes boring and repetitive, It didn't help that I wasn't interested in either of the two mini-games. I know repetition is a major story beat of the game but that doesn't mean its fun or engaging as the player.

As the story progresses I also found the sorting process so convoluted that I had a hard time understanding why the game was telling me I was placing the materials in the wrong location. Then I received a story beat to infiltrate an anti-corporate group. I didn't trust the quest giver though and declined to participate. So the game ended for me. Once the game ended I was offered the chance to restart or continue from an earlier point in the story. Neither option sounded particularly appealing and that ended my play through of CorpoNation.

I didn't finish the game. This VN started off interesting and engaging but the more I played the less invested I became in the characters, It got to the point where I was just clicking through only half reading the text to get to parts of the game I actually cared about. It's bad when the most exciting thing in the game for me was that the main character and I both use the same trackball mouse. I would suggest passing on this one.

Sometimes humor transcends cultural and language barriers. This isn't one of those times.

I was kind of on the fence about reviewing this game since I only played it for .7 hours and that wasn't enough to get past the first few screens. With the way steams refund policy works though I had to make a snap decision, I could either play the game more and hope things turn around or I could get my money back and pick a game I'd probably like better. I decided to request a refund.

Before I get into why I refunded I just wanted to mention how neat the graphics look for this game. I like the art style for the critters and the characters. In fact when the game came up on my discovery queue I thought wow this game really looks neat, why are there hardly any reviews?! So I put it on my wishlist and when I was awash with funds I decided to make the purchase. I am not glad I did.

The character moves slowly and because of the gameboard style world map (see the screenshots) it feels like you don't have a lot of control over your character or the way they interact with the environment. As you move your character across the world board (for lack of a better term) you can see loot suspended in the air. Once you get your character close enough to the loot you are able to interact with said loot and add it to your inventory. In order to benefit from the loot you have acquired you have to take this loot to specific areas (at least as far as I can tell.) Why can't you just use it when you get it?

While moving across the gameboard sometimes you will encounter a monster. You cant see these monsters before moving into the square but that's kind of par for the coarse with rpgs like this so that's fine. Anyway when you run into these enemy encounters the camera angle changes to a different view where the badguys occupy one side of the screen and the party members occupy the other. This is also pretty standard for a turn based rpg game of this style but I will say that the enemy and party member pictures are very large and detailed. They look really neat on the screen. Unfortunately because of the large character and monster models all of the battle menus felt very crowded and awkward to me. It gave me a claustrophobic feeling.

So we have a game with an unpleasant feeling world board out of combat mode and a crowded unpleasant feeling in combat mode. Throw in a story that didn't drag me in at all (this comment seems unfair to me since I played for a limited time but I had to make a decision within the window steam provides) and you have a pretty bad game experience. I suggest passing on this one.

This game seemed to have an interesting premise but I'm not interested in dudes or lizard ladies (no offense to the dudes or lizard ladies out there.) The game seems determined to have me go on a date with one of them. It would have been nice to just pick no thanks I'll pass and stay home but that wasn't an option. Too bad Carla, it could have been great!
