Hard Pass

- Most of this game is a walking simulator disguised in various shades of other gaming genres
- One achievement is locked behind a timed event that was only available Halloween 2022. It's post Halloween 2023 and it never came back.

Want good SCP Content? Play SCP Containment Breach, because this isn't it.

What is there to say about this game?

Capcom's Team behind RE2make took one of the best games of all time and improved it.

> The story makes more sense whilst keeping the charm the original had, functioning as a solid sequel to Leon's RE 2 Story.

> The characters are fleshed out to a greater depth than the original, with revamped members like Luis stealing the show whenever they appear.

> Gameplay is modernized and cleaned up, but with some well thought out additional components like the revamped Knife to shake things up and keep things fresh

I could go on but other reviews will do a better job at getting into more detail. Must buy if you enjoy RE, Horror, Action, and Highly Replayability.

DISCLAIMER: [b/] If this is your first foray into Resident Evil, go and play RE2make first. You'll appreciate this story as the sequel to Leon's campaign far more than just going in blind.

Short and sweet with a phenomenal atmosphere and aesthetic. Must get bite-sized horror.

Also it's free, so you've got nothing to lose from giving it a try.

One of the best gems of 2022. One of the best modern survival horrors. Absolute must for Sci-fi and/or Survival Horror Fans.

-Silent Hill Atmosphere
-Classic RE Style Gameplay, but Optimized
-Moving Story with Deep Subtext, Layers, and Mystery: lots of ways to interpret the plot.
-Compelling Characters and moments that'll bring tears to your eyes
-Arthouse style storytelling and cutscenes, a rarity for video games.
-Entire game better put together than lots of AAA titles...and with a dev team of TWO.

Go in Blind.

Absolutely replay it for the newfound context and different endings.

Remember Our Promise.

Two words: STUN. LOCK.

More words: despite taking over a year to release from RE 8's og release, this game hasn't seen any improvements or balancing changes since beta from 2021. Gamer pool is low, expect to play the same 4-5 people if you queue up in a lobby.

Each "update" has just been cosmetics, more tiers on a battlepass, extra faceless re 8 characters, and ONE map for a total of three. No balance patches since launch (unlike REsistance), so Chris and Ada remain broken and busted. We're talking getting sniped by a crossbow bolt from across the map, then being instantly killed with the second hit because hit 1 stunlocked you.

Not really worth the long haul. It was a fun idea but half baked. Just another Capcom pump and dump like REsistance was.

Without a doubt, the best story horror game Supermassive has released so far (next game hasn't come out yet)

HIGHLY Recommend playing Shared Story with a friend.

Short, but sweet. If you love Dishonored, you'll love this too.

Everything that worked in Dishonored 2 is pushed even higher here: from a more intuitive system that encourages you to use your powers more often without items to a map variety that feels focused but expansive enough. The powers here are some of the most unique in the whole series, allowing for some of the most dramatic and creative forms of gameplay the series as displayed thus far.

The story here is a bit more compelling than that of Dishonored 2, even if you haven't played Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witches in Dishonored 1. Performances are phenomenal with Rosario Dawson's Billie Lurk being a perfect compliment to the world and story around her.

All in all, a great way to cap off the Dishonored series.

A semi short game with a story that sticks with you for a long time. Go in blind, the less you know the better.

Absolutely Phenomenal.

-Great Gameplay
-Magnificent Music Selections
-Amazing Aesthetic Visually and Stylistically
-Crazy Good Challenge and Replay Value
-Easy to Learn, Hard but Rewarding to Master
-Can be played in short bursts if you don't have much time, or long jam sessions if you got hours to kill

A must buy if you're into rhythm games. Just be sure to get the dlc too, because that's where the hardcore fun begins.

Fun idea, but messy execution.

-Game has been in a constant state of unbalance. First survivors were OP, then Masterminds with the Nicholai DLC, then back to Survivors again, where it stuck all the way thru.

-Game has a brutal learning curve: if you're just starting be prepared to lose, over and over again until you hit somewhere around level 20 on any of the survivors or masterminds

-No Anti-Cheat: I've played games where survivors would pull infinite molotovs, gun ammo, first aid sprays, and rocket launchers for longer than is possible in the game. I've seen survivors grab the area 1 keys through walls without leaving the safe zones.

-Community is, when looking at it optimistically, a mixed bag. There's some really awesome players but there's also a LOT of toxicity. More on that below.

-Active userbase is small .The Game's Last Update was the beginning of October, with no foreseeable updates in sight to fix the lack of proper balance. Most of the players have moved on and the few that remain are hardcore players with levels going as far as the 100-300 range. Because the pool is so small, you tend to wait in queue for a while, and you tend to get the same few people over and over again (which isn't fun if the connection is bad as a survivor, or if you're running against overpowered LVL 100+ SWAT teams as a mastermind)

-No dedicated servers, game is pvp with mastermind as host. Games can be ruined via bad connections and you're guaranteed to see a "losing connection with mastermind" type warning in every game you play. You a mastermind with bad internet? Prepare to be repeatedly harassed in dms and your profile about how you're a cheater and a lag switcher.

TL;DR - Game is unbalanced, has a small, quite hostile at times community, no servers, no anti-cheat, and no update to fix it all in sight. You'll have more fun playing RE 2 Remake or the RE 3 Remake Proper.
