The game is generally quite fun. It could be considered a more action based typed of Milsim with some intense combat. However at the same time there are things that could be better and it's a real slight thumbs up.

Things I enjoy are:

1) The cosmetics are all neat, I like seeing everyone with their cool uniforms on and with variety on faces as well.

2) Classes are able to be leveled up allowing you to pick a specific class but have some variety in how you approach that class

3) The weapons feel nice and all pack a punch with the exception of one class's specific weapons which I'll explain more in the things I dislike section.

4) The chaotic feel of a firefight is awesome with explosions going off around and soldiers being turned into strawberry jam.

5) A good chunk of the iconic WW2 vehicles you've learned to love that behave in specific ways and fill specific roles.

Things that could be improved are:

1) The clambering/vaulting system is awful, there are invisible barriers where you wouldn't expect and you can't vault over things that could definitely be vaulted over at times. There's no clear indication of what you can vault/clamber or not.

2) The Auto Rifleman class is fairly useless. A semi auto rifle or just an accurate bolt action shot will always beat you close quarters even if you start firing first. You're supposed to have the advantage in close quarters with full auto but it's like either the hit detection is trash or the bullet damage is trash.

3) The game doesn't make it clear what the mechanics regarding supply are unless you take an Officer or Commander role, otherwise if you're a basic soldier and haven't touched the roles you may think you could go the whole game without worrying about it at all and that it wouldn't impact your game.

4) You can get spawn camped in your Headquarters. Enemies can walk right up to it and harass it. This generally isn't a common issue as if you've gotten to that point things probably weren't going great for you anyways, but it's annoying nevertheless.

5) This is probably my biggest gripe but the Queue system is awful. Only 6 people can Queue up for a server, if you're past the 6 it just tells you the server is full. Why is the Queue so small especially when I want to play with friends which brings another annoying feature that isn't present. Why can't friends and I form a group together so we can join at the same time instead of carefully coordinating which server we want to join and constantly spamming the enter button so we don't have to join an empty server?

6) Tossing grenades in this game is the worst I've seen in any video game. Do an overhand toss? Your character barely moves his arm and yet the grenade just launches itself. Do an underhand toss? You just dropped it, you toss it 1 foot and realise that you'll never underhand toss ever again.

7) The rate at which you are given XP is atrocious. This isn't a Live Service F2P game and yet it almost has you looking around for a shop that sells XP bundles to see if that game is Live Service because you level up the classes you play as so slowly. You can easily take an hour to play 1 match and end up finishing the match only to find you've barely leveled up the class you were playing as, then you realise how many classes there are and come to the conclusion that you're going to have to find a class you really enjoy playing as or you'll never level up any classes. Be more generous with class XP for the love of god.

8) The games can last a very long time because there is no "ticket" or "reinforcement" system that is present in other games like Squad or Red Orchestra. This can be beneficial in the way that you don't feel like you're having as poor of an impact on the team when you die but at the same time this means that the games goes on until 1 team completes their objective like capturing every point or it can go over an hour because the match was either a stalemate or a defending team successfully defended their last objective.

Overall I think the game is enjoyable, but make sure to set aside a lot of time to play uninterrupted and learn to live with some annoyances with the hope that they get addressed in the future.

I initially posted a positive review as the game was quite enjoyable. With the November update however that has been thrown into the wind. If you got the game recently and think it's unfair in its difficulty and that it requires specific card decks you're not alone.

The devs decided to make the game harder by not listening to user feedback after claiming they did. Spawns for the Mutations are completed bugged out and leads to wipes a lot easier than they should. Instead of interesting mechanics that were used to keep the team together like in L4D with Specials that were easy to kill but extremely dangerous if you caught out of position, B4B instead has you deal with enemies that are dangerous because they deal high damage, and they're all difficult to kill unless you run specific cards, otherwise they're all bullet sponges.

I enjoy the game. I bought it on release on Origin when the Lootbox fiasco was going around and still enjoyed it despite the grind. After some time my account got hacked and my library purged of games and I was dejected for some time. Decided to get the game through steam and I'm pleasantly surprised with it. It's no longer grindy like it used to be, you have access to all heroes off the bat. Unlocking and upgrading cards is a matter of just leveling up your character which gets experience fairly generously even if you're sucking. You can play offline with instant action game types to your hearts content and participate in co-op game types or general multiplayer style action.

The one big issue I am having atm however is that when I boot Battlefront 2 I can play any type of match normally and as long as I stay in the matchmaking cycle have no issues. However if I quit to go to the main menu to play around with unlocks I've received with my classes for example I can no longer join a match as I get an Error 201 message "Connectivity to the server lost". The only fix (despite EA's attempt at saying it's my end have done nothing) is to close the game then boot it up again. This was never an issue I had in the past so either it's related to the game being on Steam or they messed something up and are dodging responsibility on it.

Game is a lot of fun, lots of weapons to choose from, a collection of classes that carry their own benefits and can create unique squad compositions for any mission. The game looks good, there's a story present, it functions similar to L4D where you move forward, activate some objective and defend, move forward and repeat with slight variations in enemy difficulties and environments. The game does what it needs to do.

The one major issue with the game however is a lack of Quickplay. Matching up with anyone on the standard difficulty is easy enough as new players tend to start out on it and advance together. The issue comes after you beat the campaign on standard and want to move up difficulties. Because there is no quickplay, when you choose a mission you need to hope someone else also chooses it so they can match with you. It becomes significantly more difficult to matchmake with anyone the higher you go in difficulties and unless you settle for the AI teammates, you won't get anyone to pair up with you.

They could fix this by having a quickplay matchmaking option but as of right now that option is not present. The dev team has seemed responsive to issues so far and fixing them fairly quickly so hopefully a Quickplay option arrives to help keep this game alive.

I've been playing through Mass Effect 1 so far, and I'm enjoying a lot of the graphical upgrades and general improvements, it's rather enjoyable. However, that being said there are some frustrating bugs. If you choose to shoot some Salarians that are in the process of being indoctrinated inside a cell, the framerate drops and never picks back up. Annoying, guess I'm just going to leave them be. But the most frustrating bug right now is- I'm playing the game on Insanity, I've done all the important missions and am now in the final fight of the game against Saren. I'm excited, once I beat this I can go onto Mass Effect 2, BUT, the game crashes on the 2nd Cutscene in the fight against him. I've done it 3 times so far and can't beat the game because of a cutscene bug at the very end?! I'm enjoying my experience overall so far, but this review is going to stay negative until this ridiculous bug gets patched.

Edit: Onto Mass Effect 2, the game looks gorgeous, but it crashes if you pause during a fight more often than it should. You'd assume a remaster would do away with many bug issues but this is quite frustrating for games that have been in out for quite a while.

For context playing with a RTX 3070 with an AMD Ryzen 3700x

It's a rogue-like game that guides you through a linear story where everything is RNG. Looks like you have 80% chance to hit? Guess I'm gonna go full force then *miss* okay. You're told at the beginning that the AI never cheat, except for those times they attack 3 times in a row to the 1 turn you can take every time. The stats for hitting anything are worse than XCOMs. If this game was completely random from its world to the events in it I'm sure it would be more enjoyable but by choosing to be a linear story with RNG elements that may or may not increase stats it's just an artificial difficulty. You can do everything right based off of game mechanics but fail because your stats weren't high enough. You can tell that it is purposefully implemented by the fact that you can get perk points after your character dies to potentially buff up your next character, it's ridiculous.

Overall it's a great game. It can be very frustrating as the game heavily favours those who have a deeper knowledge of the mechanics and their understanding, meaning you can spend the first few dozen hours getting bodied before you've figured out how to be effective.

There are some glaring map imbalances on certain maps that can make being on the team that has the imbalance rather frustrating as well. Horses are busted atm and fire doesn't seem to make sense as you just instantly started incinerating the moment you touch it. There are only a few maps to choose from as well which can make the game feel repetitive in the long run unless you can find something like self improvement as a goal to strive for. XP and Gold are given out based on match length and not on how well you did, everyone gets the same reward, so even if you just got slaughtered you can still get cosmetics, armor, and weapons.

The ragdolls, voice emote spamming, and sounds make the game very enjoyable. Watching someone beat another person down with a frying pan, a horse being punctured by a ballista and sending its rider flying, the satisfying and terrifying sound of the crunch when someone's head is caved in by a maul or an eveningstar, an eccentric knight taunting an enemy by telling him that his defence has more holes than his mother's swiss cheese, a cross map javelin throw that pelts someone right in the face, killing them instantly, the feeling of finally understanding how to use the mechanics to your advantage and besting someone in a 1 on 1 duel. These are the things that make the game enjoyable, and the positives of this game definitely override the negatives.

"The resemblance is uncanny! They look just like us!" the soldier says as the frog like aliens that look nothing like humans show up.

Fantastic game for just wanting to shoot lots of things and blow up things at the same time with gear progression and the goofiest dialogue.

They do this with every Total War game and it's always a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move to monetize it when it does feel like something that should be free. However it does add another element to it that adds more realism.
