Pushed as a tactical, stealth, PVE/PVP shooter but turned into a fast-paced, pray and spray gun oriented, mechanically gimmicky, battle royal, the game has strayed from what it once was.

I have been playing Hunt since the player base was just shy of 2000 concurrent players. I have seen this game grow and now I'm watching it crash and burn. It's abandoning the hard-core, perma-death feel, because it's not appealing to the casual audience. It's embracing the bells and whistles of other games that are "more successful", even tho this game was a huge success in it's own niche and style and right. This game piggy backed on the backs of people who wanted something that is not a forgiving zoomer shooter, filled to the brim with "powers" that take the pressure off of dying or making a mistake. It's now shedding it's skin to imitate other games in hopes to reap on newer players accustomed tastes.

From the atrocity that is the new UI, to changing the meta and abandoning certain play styles so that the people coming off of some other shooters find this game interesting, while also banking on the original fan base to still carry the torch. Double dipping, attracting new players while completely not adhering to the original fans that stuck with the game, through thick and thin, is just painful and disrespectful.

There is no place for anything tactical here, the guns (that were, on purpose, once really slow to fire) are now oriented to just spam bullets to pin people and increase your chances to hit instead of making you think when to shoot, or just be patient enough to align a perfect shot. The focus is shifting from opening new avenues of gameplay to switching to a, reaction-jerk, shooting and map knowledge. Not to mention twitch streamer pandering, basically to be fun to watch, but that's a gray zone and topic, and I won't go into it.

I think greed overtook the direction this brilliant game once had. The world this game brought is amazing, the lore has so much potential and what is already written is awesome (if you forgive the blatant woke and sjw inclusions to get brownie points so that more money could be made or loaned). The greed is also pretty visible in the way they are trying to monetize it. From the way that they removed/toned down passive Blood Bonds accumulation (special currency ingame) to how they shove down your throat the new battle pass, in any way the can, it's easy to lose the feel of this, once, really atmospheric game, where the main menu was used to get you into the mood, and set up the matches you are about to go into.

For me, someone who has been playing Hunt either from dusk till dawn, or gave it up for months on end, so that some bs "events" would finally pass, the only thing that could bring me back is if this game got a really good reset of the newest inclusions to the UI and monetizing strategies, sat down and instead of adding skins and new gimmicks, got their act together and stabilized the game, made it more optimized and fixed their servers.

Priority should always be set on the gameplay and the feel of the game, not ads and thinking of ways to extract money from the players. Sadly this game abandons the optimization, bug fixing, stability, latency, even the in match menus (you have to stand still to see what is your teammates gear, but before this update it wasn't like that... I really have no words for this) for battle pass, events, constantly changing UI and skins in hopes that people spend money on ♥♥♥♥ they don't need in a game that was once a gem.
