Important for anyone wondering if this game is for you: This is a pirate sandbox type of a game where the only rewards are cosmetics. The world is also (currently) always with others online which means that PvP is ALWAYS a risk, regardless of what you are doing, even during times of the day that it may mean less players currently awake in your area the servers themselves merge into each other to make sure that no server ever has 1 ship being alone.

With that said: I absolutely love this game.

I have had more fun and enjoyable moments playing both alone but even more so when playing with others on my crew than I can think of for at least these last 5 years of gaming.

Would I recommend this game for newer players? I'd say that it depends on the gamer, not the game.
The game is not going to give you clear instructions on what to do as a linear game would, there is always the risk of encountering someone who will engage in a fight and for us Achievement Hunters there's a lot of things to do that will take a lot of time to accomplish. But if all of that sounds like fun then most definitely.

If you are unsure if the game is worth the price here on Steam then try getting it through XBox Gamepass since the game is crossplay before ya decide.
