My favourite amongst the shallow sea of golf party games. Controlling the force of shots with the mouse's momentum instead of a power bar is what separates Golf It from its single competitor. There's a good amount of community made maps with various gimmicks. Don't forget to tick collision on.

It's been 5 years and the updates never stopped coming. If you love tight 2D combat do yourself a favor and grab this game.

This is my first 2D FF game, so take this as a newcomer's first impression. So far it's exactly what I expected: an oldschool 2D JRPG brushed up just enough to preserve the oldschool feeling while making it feel less dated.

I personally don't mind random encounters but the auto battle function is an unexpectedly welcomed addition. It might even ruin my expectations of future playthroughs of older games because it keeps the flow of the game and makes everything comfortable. They nailed the visual upgrade, it definitely oozes nostalgia while looking much more appealing than the original. I find the new fonts fine without having played earlier releases, but I understand those that prefer the old one and would prefer at least a toggle. Luckily the modders were on it day one. What it has an option for, however, are the button prompts: it's not as common - even among brand new releases - as it should be to have both Xbox and PS prompts available for choice by default.

It's pretty much what I expected from a classic's remaster. Recommended if you're looking for that oldschool JRPG experience available out of the box.

Supergiant's unique idea of sewing the narrative into the genre's looping mechanic is brilliant. Paired with the superb voice acting and thousands of unique lines it makes you look forward to getting back to the HUB regardless of a run's outcome. The combat is fluid, on par with Dead Cells'. Run variety is moderate due to areas being the same every attempt. Forcing builds is possible to a certain extent as you get to choose your weapon and certain meta-upgrades make searching for specific powerups during runs easier. The difficulty feels balanced however cranking it up is necessary for meta progression. The scaling is done well, enemies never become sponges, they get new moves instead of your resources/upgrades getting limited.

It's an easy recommendation to anyone including those who had sworn to avoid roguelites.

(My only pet peeve at the start was being able to dash cancel most animations but not all which is easy to get used to)

Alright, I'm done after the sidestory where you have to distract a crowd to let the man pretending to be a statue answer nature's call without blowing his act but with one of the choices you end up telling the little kid Santa isn't real.

Beat 'em up combat. A serious main story split into chapters alternating between 2 main characters. 100 short side stories which make you cry and laugh back to back, such as helping a shy girl to be a good dominatrix, escorting the moonwalking MJ down the street, helping a guy out in his search for his favourite JAV actress and finding someone's pants. Goro Majima.

Overall it's a nice mini-game collection with gems such as Riichi Mahjong and Shogi. Not sure why they thought that choosing games by having to navitage through streets modeled after Tokyo and Osaka in 3D was a good idea, a simple menu with pictures would've been sufficient, but either way, that's rad.

The concept only sounds weird till you have given it a shot.
