Is CAPCOM going through its own renaissance-era right now?

-I hope so. first I played DMC5 and now RE2: Remake; and hey, SURPRISE! They are great games; and they are even great games at day one - No more shallow ‘’apology patches’’ from the developers; No more trying to imitate a best-seller... for all the wrong reasons (RE5 = Call of Duty); Both games doesn’t force me to spend money on rubbish DLCs; And both games feel like complete products, FINALLY! I feel like it has been, like, 11- or 12-years since last time I bought a complete and working AAA-game from a AAA-developer such as CAPCOM; and best of all: RESIDENT EVIL 2 IS A RESIDENT EVIL GAME! I’m so glad that this isn’t RE5(it’s fun but it’s not scary) where CAPCOM blatantly wanted a piece of that Call Of Duty pie because the economy crashed in 2008. And lastly, in regards to the headline, please, CAPCOM, please don’t lose this momentum; As a longtime fan, I want things to be great for you; I don’t want you to go out of business.

As for comparisons for the original RE2 on the PS1, it saddens me to say that I can’t help you there. I remember playing a little bit of RE2 on the PS1, back in the late-2000s or early-2010s; I went in to that weapon shop in the beginning (oh yeah, whatever happened to that in RE2: remake); then I moved on to the Police Station aaaaand… that’s about it, I guess.

The Good
1. CAPCOM finally went back and made Resident Evil great again. DLCs are just optional.

The Bad
1. The awkward dialogue: CAPCOM... you didn’t have to go back THAT far. Why would the protagonist have a conversation with someone in the middle of a crisis? If I was the protagonist, I would hurry and open up the fence AND QUICKLY.
2. Personally, I think RE2:Remake should have had a few tactical elements borrowed from RE4. Such as, if you shoot a zombie in the leg, you will temporary disable it for a few seconds

I don’t understand
1. Why can’t I dodge timed attacks like in the old days? Or how about in RE4: shoot knee + walk up and press the Action-button = KICK! And what happened to the 180 degree turn?

RE2 gets an overall score of 9/10 and my seal of Quality Controlled Products
