The combat is fast paced, fluid and so well polished that you picked up the hang of it under an hour and become a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ninja after a few more.

But what makes it a master piece is how the game looks and how it makes you FEEL. Yes it's pretty but it's not just about graphics, it's how you use them. Ori and the blind forest was pretty but the areas didn't really mean much. Hollow Knight's environments aren't only breath taking, but combined with the music, ambiance, intelligent story design and even better map design. The environment tells a story and Hollow knight PERFECTLY makes you feel what the game wants you to feel. Fear, hopelessness and sometimes just raw "What the ♥♥♥♥."

As mentioned above most of the story is told through the environment and dialog of NPCs, so starting off you'll have no idea what you're doing. But after you talk to a few people and find some new areas, you'll truly be dragged into the story.
