If you've heard of this game, it's probably for its clever language puzzles and slowly piecing together new cultures by picking up words. While that's still there, nobody brings up its heart-touching story about compassion and understanding.

HARD recommend if you enjoy emotional investment and gaining mastery of a space through curiosity.

If you're interested in exploring video games as an art form, this is the one for you. I have never been so emotionally touched like this before by any other piece of media in my life.

This may not be for you if you need gamey mechanics (skill trees, level ups, "number go up") but it's definitely for you if you feel the joy of discovery and curiosity (e.g. Hollow Knight, Dark Souls, Breath of the Wild, Rain World, Subnautica).

I initially got this game outside steam (🏴‍☠️) but I had to buy it and play it properly paying my respects to the devs because it was that good.

I have (and still do) gift this game to close friends who I think might be interested because it was that good.

This has been my #1 game since I first played it and nothing has come close to dethroning it. To me, it was that good.

I came because "it's like powerwash but in space"

I stayed because "oh my god the plot and characters and themes of the game are AMAZING"
