If the concept of decoding languages sounds interesting to you, then you'll want to play Chants of Sennaar. I hadn't really heard much about it despite a huge number of glowing reviews, but went searching for more language translation games after playing Heaven's Vault and wasn't disappointed here! There are a few more non-translation puzzles than I'd personally prefer, but it's a great game with an interesting story and mechanics. Ten hours to completion is just the right length here as well. Highly recommended.

This is a must play if you like puzzle games and/or linguistics. Similar to Return of the Obra Dinn and The Case of the Golden Idol in its core gameplay, with a bigger emphasis on worldbuilding. Loved it, recommend strongly.

Translating anything has never ever been this addicting.

Strongly suggested to anyone into encryption or linguistics. Even better if both.
