Yes, this game can be played and enjoyed as a single player game.

No, you don't need to buy anything other than the base game.

Fallout 76 is most definitely not pay to win. All updates are free and any paid DLC or the monthly subscription just gives you access to more skins, items for your base, storage capacity and a private server (none of which you need).

Like every other Fallout game there are a few main story quests and lots of side quests. The world map is big and there are lots of places of interest to explore. The difference with 76 is there are other human players occupying your map but they won't bother you. They are just doing their own thing, as you are doing your own thing.

Frequently there are events which if you join you will automatically team up with any other players that opt in. There are also Daily Ops which are short missions, and Expeditions which are longer missions. If you are a high enough level you can solo these however, it's easier, quicker and just more fun to do them in a team.

Did you like the base building in Fallout 4? Well in 76 it is even better. Did you hate the base building in Fallout 4? Then don't worry, in 76 it's actually good and useful.

If you enjoyed the previous Fallout games, there is no reason not to get this one.

Saying base building is better than FO4 is retarded. It just gives you freedom in placement and it allows you to BUY cosmetics to improve the decor. Someone who does not get anything from the atom shop has to work 50 times as hard to get their camp nice. Also yes you can play solo. Youre probably only going to play solo outside of events. The hard part is actually working together on non-event quests.

Thank you for this review. After watching the show I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. For those that have played FO4 this is very much like it. Better in most ways.

Yes, you can play this single player. That is how I play most of the time. I will jump into a public group for the exp buff. I will jump into events when I want. I had a point that was all I did. Decided to just go on and play some side quests and the main story, so that I did. The only tough part is the inventory management. I am just now figuring it out to be at a comfortable spot.

Anyone on the fence, I say give it a go. Especially if you enjoyed FO4 as this is very similar with more of the same but better. Come and enjoy it.

I always thought the biggest problem was the internet connectivity online as well as the marketing for the game. It's great that they've kept with updating the game, even if Fallout First leaves a bad taste in people's mouths, mine included. I just remember the marketing for this game being an absolute dumpster fire which hurt the game and people's trust.

The game can be played single-player if you buy fallout 1st. But even then it's designed to be a multi-player game as that's how it was designed when the game first released. It'll never be a single-player game or a multi-player game, it's this weird mix like Dark Souls is. They really should make Fo76 a single-player game with a multi-player mode. Two games.

They did just make the storage a lot better though with perks now applying to any items in storage, drastically reducing the weight taken up all around.

Yeah base building in this is actually quite annoying, especially if you move your camp and have a whole structure to place because of the god awful terrain in every inch of the map.

I never once had a problem with stash size when I played without fallout 1st the majority of my playtime. Game servers haven't crashed once in the 50 levels I've logged into the game in the last week. Games fun, sorry the losers can't enjoy anything anymore.
