There was a time when i'd support this game, back when it was psyonix. but ever since Epic got ahold of it as a whole, the game has steadily become pay-to-enjoy.

Trading was removed, they monetized the random rewards, tightened their hold on the costs within the market, limited their customization (some of the customization options don't even work anymore. Dino skin doesn't show in match for example.), ended the ability for people to earn battle pass credit through gameplay, combined Drop Shot and Hockey into one semi-seasonal event which no one wanted (or asked for) in the name of "fun" (which is a straight up lie.), progressively got more strict on their censoring to the point that hundreds of thousands of users' names have become censored as of their most recent change to TOS. (so much as having "hell" in the name censors it. even if you've had the name since 2015, which personally has irked me quite a bit as you can see.), they have promoted the concept of toxicity in gameplay by minimizing their support desk's ability to assist with anything in the game...

Putting it simply, it's still a fun game, but i can't recommend it anymore, there's too much being negatively implemented that is constricting the players from enjoying the game for what it is, while promoting their market as much as they can.

this is one of those games I loved to fiddle with off n' on with my uncles before I had a steam account. Loved playing it, and it had a strong community...

i say had because the community now consists primarily of bots, abusers, toxic hate-messages, glitches, bugs that have plagued the region for years, and a company that seems to lack any interest in actually fixing a game that effectively launched valve's reputation to begin with....

This is rough to watch, because i do love this game, but i hate what it has become. so I will also follow the efforts of the community. This is NOT a game you can play for entertainment purposes anymore. when you try, it just ends in depression.

This is one of those games you can get stuck in for hours and have no recollection of what you did, why you did it or how you got there.

You can make some amazing, crazy and just outlandish creations, sit back and go "how the heck does this work" and no matter what you do you can't recreate it again.

The insanity that can be had reminds me of Factorio. Build something awesome, forget about the world for 8 hours at a time and it only feels like it was 10 minutes.

I love this game.... I've had it on PS3, PS4, PC as a cracked version for YEARS and had no problems.

Decided to buy a copy, because I wanted to enjoy the DLC..... and suddenly EVERYTHING IS FALLING APART.

- DLC crashes to desktop when engaging with it
- Legitimate updates from the company, that seemingly do nothing to help the game's stability, break everything the modders are trying to fix
- Continued abuse of the creators hub
- Still not happy with the addition of that stupid paid version of the creators hub

This game is beautiful.... but the company is GARBAGE.

Looks like Sony's bogus attempt at controlling the playerbase in the name of their share-holders has been redacted due to the sheer willpower of the players and Arrowhead, CONGRATS! I still do not trust *anything* from Sony, as their greed knows no limits. I have a feeling they will do anything they can to re-enact whatever they can for control over Helldivers in the name of money and shareholder profits.

REMAIN VIGILANT DIVERS!

Okay. So I've been a long-time player for the first robocraft, but fell out of interest as the game turned into a b.s problem of who could make the smallest vessel with the biggest weapon (or the worse one, a giant flat gun bed with the most weapons on the least blocks...)

So tell me.... what was the reason you bound movement keys to your build keys? I can't undo block placements without shifting the camera. I can't change the camera/undo buttons without altering crouch buttons when on foot. What made this a wise idea?

You also separated the build mode from the cue mode for combat, adding an un-needed additional loading screen + wasted resources...

Then there's the crafting system itself.

-Click once to expand on a flat plane
-Click again to go up and down
-Click AGAIN to complete the placement..

This whole system could have EASILY been rectified with a pulling system (three-axis' pull bars, clicking and dragging extends the block. Roblox, Trailmakers, and multiple games from the early 2000s have perfected this system, so why would you try to butcher a simple system like this so badly?

Don't get me wrong, the building system is nice otherwise, blocks connect smoothly and there's no noticeable seams when the block connects. One thing I need to address is that this system if it wasn't so clunky, would be amazing to engage in. So again I ask why butcher the build controls so severely?

Then there's the cue-time to get into battle. I spent 20 minutes waiting for my first battle and still did not enter one...

I regrettably do not have this kind of time to wait for a battle, nor this kind of patience to get involved if the game is already looking at ways to make profit on the game's future (the battle pass. skins and customization aside, this is a severely janky and half-hearted swing at the amazing systems that Robocraft was known for... Which means, I cannot support this game's progress this early in its development.

It looks amazing, it feels smooth. but the controls and lack of ability to separate combat from building, the excess loading screens.... these small things make the game difficult to enjoy.

My lord how much time I spent in the first day of sitting on my butt tearing apart ships. Couple things i'm noticing though and i'd love to see change in the future, but i'll save that for a proper discussion page.

The game is true to its explanation. Level up equipment, tear apart big ships and buy scrapped ships to get better parts. There's a TON of other opportunities for them to expand on and make this a legitimately awesome "job sim" genre addition, so long as they continue to give it this level of TLC. I've just cleaned up and scrapped the first 4 ship segments, now working on the fifth. Been having a great time just enjoying the total destructive nature of the game.

Don't mind my low hours player, i sunk many hundred hours into the beta before it was even thought of coming over to steam. just like Warthunder and Star Conflict (other gaijin games either created or acquired by them.)

This game has a ton of potential, has had potential for many years. But just like Warthunder before it, and Star Conflict that Gaijin acquired later, they have run ALL of that potential behind a paywall to make ends meet.

You used to be able to unlock basic parts for building through combat via pvp... not anymore.

You used to earn material over time through combat and special raid events, those rewards have been halved.

You used to be able to use the workbenches without spending coin, now you spend anywhere from 2 to 15 coin just for the common to purple rarity, let alone the gold weapons (which in themselves also have a timer that goes up to 21+ hours per build, not including the multitude of hours needed for the parts you require to get to this point.

They added a battlepass, which blatantly gives a "pay to win" atmosphere as each level gives players multiple coins + parts and weapons, while free players get crates once each 5-10 levels [with 5-10 pieces of plastic/electronics/copper per box only]

This game, much like anything Gaijin or Wargaming touch, are gems in a coal-field, but they are so mucked up that they might as well just be thrown in the fire-pit and forgotten.

Do not play if you value sanity and entertainment.

All that waits ahead for you is frustration and anger as you get slammed into walls by players with high rarity weapons stuck on small vehicles to deter their power score and fight the newbies in their little MG trucks. Just like what wrecked Robocraft

How about an example?

Let's say you just started. You get a truck with 3 LMGs. weak, used for part destruction.
-Power Score is 1305
-Generally your enemies are between 1500 and 2000 at this stage.
A "gun bed" (only has one gun, wheels and a basic cabin with 10 points of power.
- Legendary weapons (the gold weapons of highest rarity not including relic) have anywhere from 1600 to 2400 power score per weapon.
Armor gives between 10 and 400 armor for common items earned through leveling up, but they cannot be used in building new parts.

-Building material (scrap, copper, plastic, electronics, batteries) are earned based on your combat activity. The more damage you do/parts you destroy, the more of a reward you get.
However, since the average damage you'll start out doing is around 100-300 damage (sometimes upwards of 1000) the most scrap reward you'll see is around 30-40 scrap... this is on a victory mind you

-You cannot leave a battle after death, your reward will be minimized if you do.
-You cannot respawn, meaning you do are forced to watch as your team either gets steamrolled, or does the steamrolling. Goodluck if you have inactive bots that plague gaijin games.

Is that alot?
HECK NO.
A basic BLUEitem of useful combat potential requires 600 AND starting at the blue level weapon creation, you will need the equipment from the previous level, making these items exponentially more expensive every time.

higher rarity construction requires coins, which are only able to be earned by selling items to other players on the market or buying the coins outright with real money... There are also engraved shell casings you earn in the campaign and tokens which are earned in challenges , but they are extremely low rolls on acquisition and require 100 shells to be sold, and several hundred tokens for building materials of any worthwhile amount.

The rotary cannon 8,8mm gun called FAT MAN, a purple. requires CYAN items, 100 scrap, 200 wire, 150 copper, 100 plastic, 15coins, and 6 hours to build...

The Hulk (2 of them) which cost 1 76mm cannon (which costs 650 scrap and 130 copper) and a large fuel tank (which costs 650 scrap and 130 scrap + 1 small fuel tank and a docker cabin, which they also cost scrap to build.)

The twin wheel (one created gives 2 tires.) which costs blue large steering wheels (which cost 600 scrap) from the engineers, and 2 balloon tires from the scavengers, the base faction. (they also needs 600 scrap) and 2 hours to build

(which requires levels in both factions.) meaning you cannot make it until you level them.

So. to recap:
To make Fat Man (a limited ammo purple weapon, (ONE WEAPON mind you)
You need
around 2100 scrap total
around 300 plastic
around 400 wire
around 600-800 copper
31 gold coin (remember you need to sell other items you make OR buy them)

This is the bare minimum for a single purple item that you can build....

Or you can buy the pack for 60 bucks and get the unarmored version of the gun, 2 tracks and a couple armor parts + 2 shotguns and 3400 coin you can use to buy a legendary item or other items
.
MEANING (a pseudo example):
The moment you break 2200 powerscore (or put literally ANY armor on your starter truck or a new gun such as the 76mm cannon or AC43 rapier) You will be put up against players who could potentially have purchased high value packs or dozens of hours put into the game. Just because they shaved off their armor in favor of high power weapons. right after starting the game.

Are they easy to kill?

Well, let's see;
The Helios and Toadfish are legendary weapons. Toad is a crossbow (long range) and HELIOS fires 5 projectiles per shot with high accuracy. Helios also does increased damage to their cabin/core for knocking off parts... So already, that individual in the flatbed vehicle with a single legendary weapon, could EVISCERATE newbies and make a killing on scrap, making them even more powerful.

In otherwords? This game is HEAVILY play to win, pay to advance. (or basically? pay to win

Company: -2/10
Game: 3/10

This game, hands down, trumps the chaos that has become Ace Combat.

A labor of love and a music masterpiece. This behemoth of a game runs a stronger mercenary story, better handling of boss fights, a much broader expansive war-torn approach with no heroes being born.

A lawless and corrupt world run on money, blood, psychos and greed with a world of power at the fingertips of a select few...

Ace Combat once touted the best flight simulation gameplay out there. 5 and Zero were my favorites of the series. This game brings that vibe from the PS2 era back. But it holds the weight and strength of air combat into the current generation of games.

I absolutely LOVE this game, and will continue to support it whther there's new content or not. This, Ace combat 5 and Zero, even the online ps3 version they had..... they hold a strong spot in my heart. So keep kicking ass guys!

while it's an amazing game, and i play the hell out of it, i can't fathom why it's still 40 bucks with the dev team having completely ignored major graphical and game damaging bugs that have plagued the game since launch in 2016 here on PC...

Get the special edition version, don't bother with anniversary. no fixes and little graphical changes that can easily (and BETTER THAN A.E) be fixed with mods on nexus. Save yourself a couple bucks, but I do recommend this game overall.
