The best thing about the new tree is that they figured out that decisions should actually work. Go down the branch to establish puppet govs in the middle east and they actually happen when they finish. No random chance if the revolution succeeds, no wasting years for their communist support to go up while supporting rebels with your own supplies just for them to make 2 units when the civil war finally happens. they have a choice to get puppeted or completely destabilized. worth it for the new trees alone

it's funny how many reviews say there's a narrative bias favoring a planned-economy because that's not real

this is silly for $6 why not just include it with the ussr dlc

let me guess, you watched a video game essayist (lol) on youtube like mandalore gaming that all say the exact same things and predictably said this game is good. the atmosphere is cool and the things you can do in the game's world are nuts, you can talk to really just about every thing that's alive. on my most successful character I found a device that gifted objects with sentience so i could talk to anything. it's non linear to the extreme, create your mutant and just figure out what to do. i think that much is cool personally, but it does get old and it's not for everyone. Maybe with a lot of hours it starts to get more engaging, but i don't want to play that long and feel like i've seen all the game can really offer. idk im not excited to see what other invisible enemies it's gonna throw at me. so it's ultimately not for me, and you should consider if it is for you too

I like that the system is static and what you design at the start is what you get through the game. You can make about any ideology you could imagine, down to its ceremonies and religious influences- it's up to you how faithful you are to the original faith. I had a colony following a weird post Islam where animals were seen as people and women could only leave their harem fully covered to tend to the animals. you can't tell me that's not fun. i get why some would want to see their ideologies adapt, but liberal agitation would have just destroyed my colony

a 4x game that doesn't take weeks to learn. the easiest paradox title by far, both to learn and to play. just the right amount of diplomatic and military focus but could use a more interesting economy. probably the most well-rounded and approachable space game
