Instead of meticulously studying your gear, identifying potions, carefully maneuvering around the dungeon while managing hunger, this is a hyperspeed roguelike where you pick your build combo, hold tab to cleave through enemies and rooms in seconds and die because you ignored that you're weak to an enemy's damage type.

Finally a game that lets you participate in toxic internet flame wars even when the outrage machine is cooling down

A pretty slow and simple game that is not reliant on pay shop items to succeed (in fact, the "ultimate" mode of the game, CHIMPS, completely bars you from metaprogression and microtransactions) and it's sweaty or chill based on the difficulty mode of your choice.

It's a bit like an incremental/idle game except in the hardest challenges, where you will need to consider some micromanagement. Probably the most classic/nostalgic experience of old timey tower defense flash games.

Really cool Roguelike experience with substantial difficulty options and free modding to add or remove complications as you see fit. I personally pick up some mods to make early tool access easier so you can get going with base building and crafting much sooner.

That said, the engine really allows for some clever, unorthodox and fun strategies to get around certain threats. I recently tunneled around some plant enemies with brutal ranged attacks who were in dark tunnels to reveal them with campfires so I can properly snipe them with my fire bow. And now I can enchant my armor to become a human cactus.

At last, a game that lets you live out all the fun of being an overpowered isekai protagonist

A game that uniquely stands out from the likes of Civilization and Master of Magic with its highly sophisticated RPG elements and substantial amount of PvE-oriented map events. In a way, it's a bit like HoMM's single player campaign or like the Spellforce series. Factions, individual units and heroes are all customizable and many playstyles and approaches are possible.

Props to making a version of Master of Magic in which champions are actually good
