GET. IT.

Am I apart of the huge fanbase circle jerk? No.

Do I love BattleTech? Hell Yes.

This game is a gem, and sorely needed in the library of any Battletech fan. I love the idea of piloting a giant stompy robot and unleashing a concentrated ball of energetic hatred towards an unsuspecting foe. Yes, the game has issues with frame drop, long loading times and a list of crashes, but it is to be expected. No game is every perfect at release. Given time this game will be fixed, polished and florish under the playerbase (and hopefully an intense modding scene)

The Pros:
-Gameplay is excellent, and quite faithful to the source material, even with gaming concessions being made across the board. You get a decent sense of accomplishment from surviving engagements, gaining salvage, and interacting with your Merc company throughout the Campaign. You also get a certain sense of dread when taking damage, losing a pilot or even just looking at your monthly finances thinking about your next meal. This game hits home in that respect. Strategic depth leaves a little to be desired, but overall it delivers quite well.
-Audio is very well done. The music is nice and very well placed (pretty sure I heard a reference from the animated series?) The weapons sound as you would expect. Lots of Pew Pew, but beefy. Mechwarriors, as far as I can tell, have their own voices and flavor speech. "This reminds me of my childhood. I hated my childhood." Yes I'm referencing Medusa ladies and gentleman.
-Plenty of mechs and customization for said mechs.

Teh Cons:
-The game isnt quite optimized at the moment. For me, slow loading times and random frame drops, especially pre battle when moving all of your units at once. Might not happen to others but it's a present issue.
-There are crashes, dont kid yourself.
-The multiplayer, while fun at first quickly becomes dull in comparison to the awesome singleplayer merc gig. I find my self enjoying that more, even though the occasional skirmish is nice to offset the monotony of flying from one end of sector space to another.
-Late game seems odd, as you will undoubtedly find less use in certain classes of mechs as your arsenal grows. I feel a balancing factor is needed to keep assets like light mecsh from gathering dust in storage.

Overall, the game isn't bad and given time and polish will be something all of us BT fans out there have been dreaming of.
And hell Steams refund sytem exists for a reason. If you're not hooked in the first hour send it back to hell.

Ok. I think with my time in this game I can write an honest review. For starters with the latest update, the game has improved. It's got a fresh look and feel. Not to mention its super epic with all the gore. Yes there are bugs, as with any game under an indie developer. Just give it a chance, the team is small and super dedicated to their cause so the problems wont last long. Give it a try, support the devs and this game will soar.

Pros:
- Various battlefields modelled after real areas
- Lots of guns.
-Gore. (looks nice could use some more tweaking)
-Fun gameplay, super fun with friends)

Cons:
-Somewhat buggy. (they will be ironed out)
The occasional toxic player (not really a con just ignore them)
Not every nation is in the game yet. They have quite a few and more planned probably in the future to come)

TL:DR Try the damn game. Is fun.

This game is fun and all, but as it stands the major issues that the game had as a retail version are still apparent. The most I have been able to do is start the game and go through the menus. As for gameplay, havent been able to play yet, due to a constant graphical error that presents itself everytime you start a campaign or random map etc. Over all if you have 2 bucks to spend you might as well grab it. Maybe the devs who posted this will work on a fix or something to actually make it work, but I have my doubts.
